● Stock Market Warning
Recently, heavy selling of Japanese equities by foreign investors has drawn attention. Data indicates that overseas institutions offloaded approximately ¥190 billion worth of shares in a short period, fueling speculation about growing bearish sentiment in the market.
However, market analyst Du Jinlong asserts, "It's not yet a bear market." He emphasizes three key factors to assess the current market environment.
First is liquidity. Even if stock prices decline, the presence of sufficient buyers to maintain orderly trading is crucial. Du notes that market liquidity remains relatively stable.
Second is corporate earnings. Despite concerns about economic slowdown, many Japanese firms continue to report solid financial results, suggesting that fundamentals remain intact.
Third is the nature of foreign investor positioning. It's essential to distinguish whether the selling reflects temporary risk aversion or a strategic portfolio shift. Du warns that judging solely by sell volume could lead to misleading conclusions.
Du stresses, "Market sentiment is sensitive, but decisions should be based on data-driven analysis." He urges investors to remain calm and maintain a long-term perspective.
Looking ahead, developments in U.S. interest rate policy, exchange rates, and China's economic recovery are expected to further influence the Japanese stock market.
