The scenery of the North Coast is not only ideal for photography but can also be reinterpreted through the brushstrokes of artists. This year, the Tourism Administration's North Coast and Guanyinshan National Scenic Area Management Office invited 12 artists to explore the landscapes of the North Coast and Guanyinshan, capturing the mountain-sea scenery from diverse creative perspectives. Combined with 12 previous artworks, they have established 24 art checkpoints and launched the 'North Coast Art Walk Map,' inviting travelers to embark on an immersive journey that blends nature, art, and local narratives.

Walking into Real Landscapes Through Art From expansive coastlines and harbor sunrises to forest trails and village scenes, the ever-changing scenery of the North Coast has long attracted artists. These 24 art checkpoints place the paintings near their original inspiration sites, allowing visitors to appreciate the artworks while searching for the exact angles and views depicted. Travelers can experience how artists use color and brushwork to capture the shifting light and emotions of the North Coast at different times.

Unlike superficial sightseeing, the Art Walk Map functions more like a treasure-hunting guide through mountains and seas, connecting scenic spots around the North Coast and Guanyinshan. Visitors can design their own routes at their own pace, comparing real landscapes with artworks to rediscover subtle details often overlooked in familiar scenery.

Capture Your Own Vision of the North Coast To encourage public visits to the art checkpoints, the Administration has launched the 'Artistic Eye' photo campaign. From now until July 26, 115 (23:59), visitors can take photos at designated checkpoints and upload them to the comment section of the designated post on the 'Happy North Coast' Facebook page to enter a lottery. Twenty winners will receive limited-edition art desk calendars, notebooks, and artwork postcards.

Travelers can also take art home with them. By taking a selfie with any art checkpoint and sharing it on personal social media while tagging the 'Happy North Coast' Facebook page, visitors can present the shared post at designated locations to redeem a limited-edition art postcard. A total of 600 postcards are available, distributed randomly until supplies last.

Redemption locations include visitor centers at Baisha Bay, Zhongjiao Bay, Sanchi, Guanyinshan, and Peace Island, as well as local partner stores such as Shanhai Fangyuan, Hai Shang Ri Chu Huanggang Branch 2, and Miaomiao Cafe. Redemption methods and partner lists are subject to on-site announcements and information posted on the Administration’s Facebook page.

View All 24 Artworks at Once In addition to visiting outdoor checkpoints, reproductions of all 24 artworks are exhibited at the '2026 Encounter Spring – Tracing the Artistic Footprints of North Coast and Guanyinshan' exhibition. The exhibition runs from July 6 to August 31, 115, at the 2nd floor of the Keelung Port Eastside Passenger Center, allowing visitors to appreciate all artistic interpretations of the North Coast in one place and plan their next mountain-sea journey based on their favorite pieces.

The Administration hopes that through artistic creation and public display, the North Coast will become more than just a destination for scenic and geological tourism—it will evolve into a space where culture is felt, stories are shared, and travel memories are created. This summer, take the Art Walk Map and follow the trail between real landscapes and paintings to discover your own unique perspective of the North Coast.
