Kaohsiung’s most iconic summer night drinking festival is about to begin! The third annual '2026 Kaohsiung Cocktail Day,' hosted by the Kaohsiung City Government Tourism Bureau, will take place from 3:00 PM to 8:30 PM on Saturday, August 29, and Sunday, August 30, along Love River West Road. The event brings together over 70 unique bars, restaurants, food trucks, and creative culinary brands, and features international mixologists from Japan and South Korea alongside renowned local bartenders. With creative cocktails, gourmet food, pop-up markets, and stunning harbor nightscapes, the festival promises the most relaxing and enjoyable drinking experience of Kaohsiung’s summer nights. Admission to the entire venue is free. Alcoholic beverages are available through event wristbands and cocktail vouchers, with early bird tickets already on sale via the 7-ELEVEN ibon ticketing system. The public is encouraged to take advantage of the early discounts and experience the enchanting summer charm of this port city.

This year’s event has expanded in scale, featuring over 50 specialty bars and more than 20 popular food trucks. The Tourism Bureau Commissioner, Kao Min-Lin, emphasized that Kaohsiung has been actively promoting its night-time economy and building the Love River into a signature tourism brand. Last year’s 'Kaohsiung Cocktail Day' received enthusiastic responses, and this year’s edition raises the bar with even more participants. International mixologists from Japan and South Korea will join forces with top-tier Taiwanese bartenders to deliver dazzling cocktail performances and innovative drink creations. Visitors can stroll along the Love River, savoring creative cocktails and diverse cuisines under the enchanting night sky, fully immersing themselves in Kaohsiung’s unique harbor ambiance and vibrant drinking culture. Thoughtful non-alcoholic beverage options are also available, allowing families and non-drinkers to enjoy quality time together.

The entire venue is free to enter, allowing visitors to explore freely. However, to redeem alcoholic drinks, attendees must purchase an event wristband and cocktail vouchers and pass age verification (alcohol consumption is prohibited for those under 18; excessive drinking is harmful to health). Early bird tickets are priced at NT$938 per set, including one event wristband, five cocktail vouchers, and one limited-edition canvas tote bag. Sales began on July 15 via the 7-ELEVEN ibon system. As tickets are date-specific, attendees are advised to confirm their preferred entry date before purchasing to avoid missing out.

The Tourism Bureau reminds the public that parking around the Love River will be limited during the event. It is recommended to use public transportation: take the Kaohsiung MRT Orange Line to Yanchengpu or Frontjin Station, or the Kaohsiung Light Rail to真爱碼頭 Station, then walk to the venue. Do not drive after drinking—opt for taxis, designated drivers, or ride-hailing services instead. Always follow the 'Don’t Drink and Drive' rule to ensure a safe and enjoyable cocktail night.
