The KMT Kaohsiung City Party held a member forum in the Daqimei region on the 18th. Although postponed by a week due to a typhoon, approximately 1,500 party members and supporters from the nine eastern districts of Daqimei attended, waving flags and chanting slogans, demonstrating the KMT's grassroots mobilization strength. Former Legislative Yuan President Wang Jin-pyng once again endorsed KMT mayoral candidate Ko Chih-en, stressing that Daqimei is a crucial key to flipping Kaohsiung, and urged supporters: 'If Daqimei wins, Ko Chih-en has a chance to win.'

Around 1,500 party members and local residents attended the forum. Ko Chih-en presented policies on transportation, long-term care, and agricultural branding for the nine eastern districts. Wang Jin-pyng stated that Kaohsiung has long been governed by the DPP, with development and infrastructure in the former Kaohsiung County area neglected, leading to an expanding urban-rural gap. He praised Ko Chih-en for her deep local engagement and attentiveness to grassroots voices, calling her a key figure for change in Kaohsiung, and urged supporters to unite and campaign to gain broader public support.

Ko Chih-en bowed deeply to thank supporters, expressing gratitude to the Daqimei community for their continued backing. She recalled that four years ago, despite a difficult campaign, she received strong support from Hakka and indigenous communities, securing nearly 530,000 votes—motivating her to stay in Kaohsiung and continue her efforts to fulfill voter expectations.

On local issues, Ko highlighted her past role in exposing the Meinong Grand Canyon case, urging greater attention to environmental protection. She criticized the DPP government's mishandling of food safety incidents, emphasizing that people care most about food safety and health protection. She called for the government to swiftly clarify the truth and take concrete actions, rather than engaging in political blame games.

Regarding development in the nine eastern districts, Ko proposed several policies: increasing senior citizen card points to 1,000 per month, introducing respite care vouchers for elderly and parenting families, and building a smart, slow-traffic shuttle network to improve connectivity across the nine Qimei districts. She also proposed leveraging industrial design and cross-border e-commerce to help local agricultural products build premium brands and enhance market competitiveness.

Ko stated that if given the opportunity to govern, she would work to narrow the resource gap between former Kaohsiung City and County, balancing local development with environmental conservation, and creating more development opportunities for the Qimei region. At the event's conclusion, Ko, in her role as KMT Kaohsiung City Party Chair, presented sashes to several city councilors and candidates. Local village chiefs, association leaders, and community figures attended in force, showcasing the KMT's unity and determination in Daqimei ahead of the election.
