The legendary hand-shaken drink brand etched in the childhood memories of sixth and seventh graders is back! 'Hi-Life Station,' founded in 1992 and widely regarded as Taiwan's pioneer in takeaway beverages, once stood alongside Kuai Ke Li, Kui Ke Li, and Bei Le as one of the 'Big Four' in the hand-shaken drink scene, enjoying immense popularity before 50 Lan and Qing Xin Fu Quan rose to prominence. Although it nearly vanished from Taiwan's streets due to market competition starting around 2010, the brand has now officially announced its return, re-entering the Taiwanese market under the new brand name 'Easy Way.' The first store will open in Taipei's Yongchun district and launch with trial operations and consecutive buy-one-get-one-free promotions, instantly igniting online discussions.
The return of 'Hi-Life Station' has stirred excitement! Nostalgic fans aren't just craving pearl milk tea—they're calling for 'mint milk tea,' 'mung bean milk,' and 'egg honey juice' to bring back powerful waves of nostalgia.
After news of Hi-Life Station's return to Taiwan surfaced on social platforms like Threads, it immediately triggered a flood of youthful memories among 7th and 8th graders. Netizens exclaimed, 'So nostalgic! I'm revealing my age, but this was a must-have after school—I spent all my allowance on it!'
Following the post, users commented, 'Hi-Life Station, Kuai Ke Li, Kui Ke Li—these were my elementary and middle school memories,' 'Hi-Life Station's pearl milk tea had a unique flavor I've never found since,' and 'This was my favorite drink shop back in the day.' Beyond the classic creamer-based pearl milk tea, the comment section sparked a wave of nostalgia for retro drinks. Many loyal fans are urging the return of original bestsellers, specifically naming 'mint milk tea,' 'mung bean milk,' 'egg honey juice,' 'taro milk tea,' and 'aroma milk tea.'
Users reminisced, 'Hi-Life Station was my go-to spot for mung bean milk,' 'Creamer milk tea just tastes right when it's from Hi-Life Station,' 'I fell in love with mint green at Hi-Life,' 'I really hope they bring back mint milk tea,' and 'If I remember correctly, pearl milk tea was only NT$25 back then… can that price come back too?' These reactions highlight the powerful nostalgic appeal of this legacy brand.
