To accommodate water pipeline replacement, new installation projects, and maintenance work such as reservoir cleaning, Taiwan Water Corporation has announced that partial areas across 10 counties and cities in Taiwan will undergo temporary water outages starting July 22. Affected areas include Taipei City, New Taipei City, Taoyuan City, Tainan City, Kaohsiung City, Yilan County, Changhua County, Yunlin County, Chiayi County, and Penghu County. The longest planned outage will last up to 10 hours, urging residents in affected areas to prepare in advance.

### Breakdown of Water Outage Times and Areas by County/City

**Taipei City** - Neihu District: No. 11–29 (odd) and No. 2–34 (even) on Bishan Road, as well as No. 13 and even numbers 2–8 on Lane 256, Section 3, Neihu Road (including all alleys and both odd and even numbers), will experience a 7-hour water outage from 9:00 to 16:00 on July 22 due to cleaning work at the Bishan Li booster station reservoir. - Shilin District: No. 1–99 on Shezheng Road and No. 2–26 on Lane 45, Shezheng Road will have a 4-hour daily water outage from 11:30 to 15:30 between July 20 and 24 due to construction. - Zhongshan District: Section 36 and Alley 14 of Lane 36, Section 3, Zhongshan North Road will experience a 4-hour daily water outage from 11:30 to 15:30 between July 20 and 24.

**Yilan County** - Dongshan Township: Foguang Road, Angong Road, Anping Road, Zhao'an 1st Road, Zhao'an 2nd Road, and Zhao'an Road will face a 4-hour water outage from 13:00 to 17:00 on July 22 due to pipeline relocation work. During the same period, water pressure will be reduced in Foguang Road, Neicheng Road, Hemu Road, Anzhong Road, Anping 1st Road, Anping Road, Cihui Road, Zhao'an North Road, Zhao'an South Road, Zhao'an Road, and Xianghe Road.

**Changhua County** - Lukang Township: Shengli Street, Pinghe Road, Siyuan Road, and Ludong Road will face a 9-hour water outage from 8:00 to 17:00 on July 22 due to pipeline replacement work.

**Yunlin County** - Baozhong Township: Pujiang Street will experience a 10-hour water outage from 8:00 to 18:00 on July 22 due to pipeline replacement work.

**Chiayi County** - Yizhu Township: Yizhu Village, Renli Village, Liugui Village, Touzhu Village, Beihua Village, Xinfu Village, Xindian Village, Dongguo Village, Xiguo Village, Guanhe Village, and Guanshun Village will undergo a 6-hour water outage from 22:00 on July 22 to 04:00 on July 23 due to small-area closure testing. - Zhongpu Township: Shekou Village will face an 8.5-hour water outage from 8:30 to 17:00 on July 22 due to small-area closure testing.

**Penghu County** - Qimei Township: Haifeng Village and Nangang Village will experience an 8-hour water outage from 8:00 to 16:00 on July 22 due to leak detection and closure testing work.

### What to Do During Water Outage

Taiwan Water Corporation advises residents to complete water storage at least 6 hours before the outage to ensure water safety and prevent appliance damage. During the outage, be sure to turn off the power to water pumps. Failure to do so may cause the pump to run dry, leading to equipment failure or even fire hazards. Additionally, if building water pumps continue to run, negative pressure may occur in the water supply network, drawing in contaminated groundwater and affecting water hygiene after restoration.

### What to Do If No Water After Restoration

Immediately after water supply resumes, open all faucets at home to release air and stabilize water flow. Due to terrain elevation and location at the end of pipelines, high-rise buildings or users at the end of the line may experience slower water pressure recovery and require additional waiting time.
