The New Taipei City Government held the groundbreaking ceremony today (27) for the 'Zhonghe District Shengchang Segment Parking and Youth Social Housing New Integrated Contract Project.' New Taipei City Mayor Hou You-yi attended the event, emphasizing that the location of social housing is a key factor in enhancing living quality. The Shengchang Segment Youth Social Housing is located near the LG07 Liancheng-Jinhua Station of the Wanda-Zhonghe Line, Jinhua Elementary School, Jinhua High School, Shuangho Hospital, and Jinhua Sports Park, offering convenient transportation and comprehensive living amenities. Completion is scheduled for April 2031, providing citizens with a high-quality living environment. Mayor Hou stated that the project will construct 605 residential units, including 222 car parking spaces and 620 motorcycle parking spaces, along with public facilities such as a public childcare center and a community activity center, balancing housing needs with public services. In addition to the Anbang, Minle, and Bao'er Anju social housing projects nearing completion in Zhonghe District, the Huizuo Biomedical Park and the Nanshijiao Transportation Improvement Project are also being actively promoted to continuously enhance local living functions and drive regional development. Mayor Hou emphasized that New Taipei City is committed to building 41,000 social housing units, with over 20,000 units already completed or under construction. Furthermore, the city is advancing its 'Four Rings, Eight Lines' rail transit plan, connecting key areas such as the Xinfeng Special District, Wugu Xialüdi, Xintai Wengzishun Land Readjustment Zone, Sanchong Second Administrative Center, and the New Taipei Dome in Shulin Jimei, transforming the cityscape and driving industrial and economic growth to realize a vision of安居樂業 (peaceful living and prosperous work). According to the Department of Urban and Rural Development, the site covers approximately 5,128 square meters and will feature a 21-story building above ground and four underground levels. In addition to residential space, it will include parking and public facilities. Through integrated welfare services and community-sharing spaces, the project aims to provide citizens with convenient care support and public services, creating an inclusive, intergenerational, and mutually supportive community environment.
