What to Do During the Shutoff? Taiwan Water Corporation Recommends Two Key Steps
To minimize disruption and protect household water systems, Taiwan Water Corporation advises residents to begin water storage at least 6 hours before the shutoff. Avoiding last-minute pumping helps prevent low water pressure at pipeline endpoints.
During the shutoff, residents must turn off the power to their water pumps. If building pumps run dry for too long, they may overheat, leading to equipment damage or even fire hazards. After water service resumes, it is recommended to open household faucets to release air, allowing water and air to flow out smoothly.
Due to terrain and pipeline location, users on higher floors, elevated areas, or at the end of pipelines may experience slower water pressure recovery and need to wait longer. If water does not return after an extended period, contact Taiwan Water Corporation for assistance.
