New Taipei City Mayor Hou You-ih attended the groundbreaking ceremony today (28) for the '105 City Road Improvement and New Road Construction Project' and conducted on-site inspections of grassroots infrastructure in Linkou and Bali Districts, engaging in dialogue with local village chiefs and discussing regional development. Mayor Hou stated that 105 City Road is a vital transportation corridor for Linkou and Bali, with a total construction period of 48 months, scheduled for completion in September 2030. Upon completion, it will enhance traffic safety and connect Taoyuan Airport with Taipei Port, linking the 'dual ports' to drive industrial development.

Mayor Hou presided over the groundbreaking ceremony for the 105 City Road improvement project, offering prayers for a safe and smooth construction process. He explained that the existing 105 City Road has a narrow roadway and poses safety risks, prompting the city government to plan the new road construction to improve commuting safety. Once completed, the improved 105 City Road will directly connect southward to the Linkou Interchange of National Highway No. 1 and Taoyuan Airport, while to the north, it will link Bali, Tamsui, and Taipei Port via the 'Danjiang Bridge.' Integrated with Provincial Highway No. 61 (West Coast Expressway) and Provincial Highway No. 64, the project will connect the Linkou AI High-Tech Park, Taipei Port Cross-Border Logistics Special Zone, and Tamsui Industrial Zone, significantly enhancing transportation convenience and promoting robust industrial growth.

Mayor Hou expressed gratitude for the collaborative efforts between central and local governments in progressively improving the transportation network. The 105 City Road improvement project will employ innovative construction methods, including the construction of a 2.46-kilometer-long elevated loop bridge. Utilizing a spiral ramp design, the road gradient will be reduced to meet safety standards, eliminating hazardous sections and resolving the 180-meter elevation difference between the two ends of the road. This not only ensures public traffic safety but also positions the elevated loop structure as a new landmark, transforming urban aesthetics.

Following the ceremony, Mayor Hou attended an on-site governance forum, thanking village chiefs and local communities for their support of municipal projects. In addition to the 105 City Road project, the city government is actively advancing local infrastructure, including the installation of canopy-equipped basketball courts at Fulun, Xilin, and Baolin Parks in Linkou District, and promoting the construction of the Xin-Taolin Light Rail. In Bali District, the city is developing a new industrial park and an A+-grade waterfront recreation corridor along Bali Zuoyan. Furthermore, construction of the second Bali columbarium and eco-friendly burial zone is scheduled to break ground by the end of July. The city government will continue to enhance infrastructure and industrial development in Linkou and Bali.
