The New Taipei City Government is promoting the upgrading of police facilities. Mayor Hou Yu-yi of New Taipei City attended the '115th Year Zhiqiangli Community Security Training Observation Activity in Banqiao District' on the 29th and, in addition to commending Zhang Xueying, the head of Zhiqiangli, who has been involved in community security work for many years, also announced that the Banqiao Substation, which has a history of 45 years, will commence renovation. In the future, the model of integrating police headquarters with a multi-level parking lot will be adopted, not only improving the working environment of police officers but also increasing public parking supply, thereby enhancing the public service functions of the core area of Banqiao. Hou Yu-yi pointed out that maintaining security cannot rely solely on the police but also requires the participation of heads of villages, neighborhood watch teams, and community residents to establish a more comprehensive community safety network. He also affirmed that Zhiqiangli has been recognized by the central government and the municipal government for its community security creation and neighborhood watch evaluations over the years, demonstrating the cohesion and action force of local self-governance in protecting the community. Regarding the renovation of the Banqiao Substation, Hou Yu-yi pointed out that the current headquarters have been in use for 45 years. With the change in duty patterns and the increase in police service needs, the original space has gradually become insufficient. The municipal government plans to integrate the nearby Minquan multi-level parking lot and rebuild it in a 'police headquarters + public parking lot' co-construction manner, meeting the needs of police offices, public affairs, and parking, creating a police point that meets modern duty needs, while improving the problem of insufficient parking space around it. He said that public construction is not only about hardware updates but also about considering urban functions and citizen needs, improving land use efficiency through comprehensive planning, and making public resources play a greater role. In addition to the renewal of police headquarters, Hou Yu-yi also said that New Taipei City is actively promoting the establishment of the second administrative center. In the future, the five systems of the reporting center, situation center, emergency response center, traffic monitoring center, and food safety smart monitoring center will be integrated through cross-bureau information integration and the application of smart technology to improve urban governance efficiency and disaster response capabilities. Hou Yu-yi said that in the face of rapid urban development and diverse challenges, New Taipei City will continue to promote the upgrading of smart policing and public construction, and combine community watch power to strengthen urban safety resilience from crime prevention, technological governance to emergency response, and create a livable city where citizens can live and work in peace.
