Consumers pursuing health now care not only about physical metrics but also about emotions, sleep, and external appearance. On the 28th, GO SURVEY, a market research consultancy brand under HAPPY GO, released its latest consumer white paper, revealing that health has become a core value shared across generations. However, consumer decision-making is shifting from purchasing individual products to a comprehensive model that integrates products, services, and experiences.
Eight in ten consumers opt for combined solutions over single items
According to the GO SURVEY study, 80% of consumers facing life challenges prefer to combine different goods and services to find solutions. The budget allocated to such composite solutions is 1.7 times higher than that for single-item solutions. This reflects a shift in consumer priorities: beyond price and functionality, they now value whether a brand can simultaneously address multiple aspects of their lives.
For example, in health management, consumers no longer expect one product to solve all their problems. Instead, they simultaneously incorporate health supplements, exercise, sleep optimization, and stress management. Brands that remain stuck in a single-product sales mindset will struggle to keep up with rapidly evolving consumer habits.
The definition of health expands: body, mind, and appearance all matter
The white paper points out that while health is the most valued common concern across all generations, the focus varies by age group. Lü Wan-Zhen, Director of Market Research at HAPPY GO's Brand Innovation Division, noted that the 60s generation prioritizes physical health and is also willing to invest in appearance management. In contrast, the 20s generation is more concerned with psychological well-being and external image, indicating a growing demand among younger consumers for mental balance and self-improvement.
The 30s generation exhibits even more diverse consumption behaviors. Beyond maintaining physical condition through exercise and supplements, they also pay attention to sleep quality, work-related stress, and emotional regulation, aiming to improve their overall lifestyle from multiple angles.
Market volatility becomes the norm: brands must understand consumers faster
Li Ming-Cheng, General Manager of HAPPY GO DingDing United Marketing, stated that due to global inflation, conflicts, and ongoing external changes, market fluctuations have become the new normal. Enterprises are not only facing changes in consumer behavior but also a complete transformation in customer decision-making models. Rapidly grasping market trends and understanding real consumer needs have become key to enhancing competitiveness.
Lü Wan-Zhen suggested three strategic directions for brands to respond to new consumption trends: delivering holistic value that addresses physical, mental, and aesthetic needs; shifting focus from selling individual products to solving consumers’ life tasks; and redefining brand positioning to amplify unique, irreplaceable value.
From selling products to solving problems: cross-industry collaboration unlocks new opportunities
The white paper, themed 'Anticipating Business Opportunities from Value Re-selection to Cross-domain Bonuses,' highlights that future market competition will no longer be limited to comparisons between similar products. As consumers seek complete solutions, brands must transcend industry boundaries through cross-sector collaboration, service integration, and scenario design to create consumption experiences that are more closely aligned with daily life.
For enterprises, the next wave of business opportunities lies not merely in launching more products, but in accurately understanding the problems consumers are currently facing and offering more comprehensive and convenient choices across physical health, emotional well-being, and external appearance.
