Travelers departing or picking up passengers should pay special attention. As of today (August 1), Taoyuan International Airport has officially launched two significant new traffic and order maintenance regulations to improve congestion around terminal roads and chaos in arrival halls.

First, the designated meeting points at Terminal 1 and Terminal 2 have officially activated "technology enforcement." Vehicles that remain stationary for more than 3 minutes will be automatically photographed and fined between NT$600 and NT$1,200.

Second, Taoyuan Airport Company will strictly enforce against travel agencies and hotel operators who use signage or luggage to occupy low walls in arrival halls. Violators will face heavy fines of up to NT$25,000.

According to the Aviation Police Bureau, Taoyuan Airport sees a large number of daily passengers, but surrounding road space is limited. In the past, drivers often parked for extended periods to pick up or drop off passengers, severely affecting road efficiency. After seven months of public awareness campaigns and system testing, technology enforcement will be fully activated starting August 1 to assist police in enforcement.

Whenever a vehicle remains stationary in a designated area for more than 3 minutes, the system will automatically record video and photos as evidence. Police will then issue tickets under the Road Traffic Management Penalty Act, imposing fines ranging from NT$600 to NT$1,200.

Taoyuan Airport Technology Enforcement Key Zones:

Terminal 1: Meeting Points No. 13–23 Violation & Penalty: Vehicle stationary over 3 minutes → Fine of NT$600–1,200

Terminal 2: Meeting Points No. 21–29, 31–33 Violation & Penalty: Vehicle stationary over 3 minutes → Fine of NT$600–1,200

Money-Saving Tip for Pickups: The Aviation Police Bureau reminds that all terminal parking lots offer free parking for the first 30 minutes. They recommend that those picking up passengers park their vehicles in official lots and walk to the arrival hall—avoiding fines while helping maintain smooth traffic flow.

Strict Ban on Signage and Luggage Occupying Low Walls! Arrival Hall Chaos Now Subject to Heavy Fines up to NT$25,000

In addition to illegal vehicle parking, disorder in arrival halls is also a key enforcement target. With increasing inbound tourists, many travel agencies and hotels have introduced dedicated pickup services. However, pickup staff frequently used signs, carry-on luggage, or other items to occupy low walls near exit areas in arrival halls for extended periods. This obstructs pedestrian flow and has previously led to verbal disputes, seriously damaging the airport’s image.

Taoyuan Airport Company emphasizes that arrival halls are public passageways. As of today, the awareness period has ended and full enforcement begins. Anyone found occupying low walls with items who fails to comply after warning will be fined between NT$5,000 and NT$25,000 under Article 119-3, Paragraph 1 of the Civil Aviation Act. In severe cases, personnel will be forcibly removed from the terminal together with aviation police.
