On August 1st, Kaohsiung mayoral candidate Lai Sui-lung simultaneously launched ground and air campaigns, establishing support groups in three regions—Sanmin District, Ziguian, and Gangshan—to consolidate grassroots support. Additionally, on Indigenous Peoples' Day, he proposed policies for multi-ethnic harmony through cultural exchange with indigenous peoples.

In Sanmin District, the Sanmin and Lingya Eight Li Support Group Certification Ceremony was held at Baian Temple, attracting nearly 80% of the local chiefs. Legislators Li Kun-tsai and Hsu Chih-chieh, Council Speaker Kang Yu-cheng, Vice Speaker Tseng Chun-chieh, and councilors Ho Kuan-feng, Tang Ying-yu, Huang Yen-yu, Kuo Chien-meng, Cheng Meng-shu, Huang Wen-yi, and Chang Po-yang also attended.

Lai Sui-lung pointed out that Sanmin District is the most densely populated administrative district in Kaohsiung and the hometown of Mayor Chen Chien-jen. He promised to promote transportation improvements, living environment enhancements, and public construction upgrades to create a comfortable and safe living environment for all ages.

In the afternoon, Lai Sui-lung attended the Ziguian Support Group Certification Ceremony and then traveled north to Gangshan Shoutian Temple to establish the Gangshan Chiefs Support Group. Legislator Chiu Chih-wei and Gangshan District Chiefs Chairman Tsai Hsi-chen co-hosted the event, attracting over 500 supporters. The atmosphere was lively, showcasing the mobilization power of the grassroots in northern Kaohsiung.

Regarding the future development of northern Kaohsiung, Lai Sui-lung proposed the 'Gangshan Three Arrows' policy blueprint, which includes promoting the extension of the Gangshan-Luzhu MRT line and the planning of the Purple Line to improve the transportation network in northern Kaohsiung; assisting traditional industries in upgrading to smart and high-value development, and promoting smart agriculture; and linking the administrative center, social housing, transportation construction, and industrial parks to accelerate the formation of the Gangshan sub-center, driving the overall development of northern Kaohsiung.

Lai Sui-lung stated that northern Kaohsiung is an important engine for Kaohsiung's industrial development and a crucial core connecting the Bridgehead Science Park, Luzhu Science Park, and Nanzi Technology Industrial Park. 'If Gangshan wins, northern Kaohsiung wins; if northern Kaohsiung wins, Kaohsiung wins.' In the future, he will work closely with local legislators, councilors, and grassroots teams to secure more central resources, continue the achievements of Mayor Chen Chien-jen's administration, and lead Kaohsiung into the next golden decade.

Legislators Chiu Chih-wei and Hsu Chih-chieh, as well as councilors Huang Chiu-ying, Lin Chih-cheng, and councilor candidate Tsai Ping-chung, all expressed that Kaohsiung's recent construction achievements are evident in industries, transportation, medical care, and urban governance, which have continued to progress. They hope that Lai Sui-lung will successfully take over and continue the city's development momentum. Gangshan District Chiefs Chairman Tsai Hsi-chen also stated that local chiefs will be the strongest backbone for Lai Sui-lung, working together to build the community and serve the people.

In addition to mobilizing grassroots support, on Indigenous Peoples' Day, Lai Sui-lung released a video sharing his recent experience with plain indigenous councilor candidate Wu Zhen-xing, Kaohsiung City Amis Tribe Chief Lin Xin-ming, and Amis and Paiwan tribe members in making traditional foods and experiencing tribal culture.

In the video, Lai Sui-lung and the tribe members sang together, experienced the making of the Amis traditional rice dish 'Toron,' and learned to make the Paiwan traditional food 'Cinavu.' His first attempt at making the dish, with its unique shape, caused laughter among the audience, adding a warm and interactive atmosphere to the event. The video showcased the deep cultural heritage of indigenous peoples through song, food, and laughter.

Lai Sui-lung stated that Indigenous Peoples' Day symbolizes the important historical process of indigenous peoples' struggle for recognition, dignity, and rights. In the future, he will not only continue to respect ethnic cultures but also implement equality, diversity, and shared prosperity in urban governance. He emphasized that Kaohsiung is a city of multicultural coexistence, and as long as people cherish this land together, they are all part of the Kaohsiung family, regardless of their ethnic background.

Regarding indigenous policies, Lai Sui-lung proposed six directions, including deepening language education and cultural inheritance, improving basic infrastructure in indigenous areas, supporting indigenous youth employment and entrepreneurship, promoting characteristic industries and talent cultivation, strengthening elderly care in tribes and urban indigenous services, and linking resources for art performances, tourism, and international exchanges to make Kaohsiung an important hub for Austronesian cultural exchange in Asia.

Lai Sui-lung emphasized that in the future, he will be the most stable and trustworthy backbone for indigenous peoples, continuously listening to the needs of various ethnic groups, and building a Kaohsiung that is competitive in industry, inclusive in culture, and livable in happiness. He also hopes to work with citizens to welcome the next stage of urban development.
