The Legislative Yuan passed, in its third reading at the end of last year, reform-related bills to halt pension cuts. For the period from December 28, 2025, to July 31, 2026, the competent authority mandated that the outstanding pension arrears must be fully disbursed by August 1, 2026. People Power Party legislator Chen Chao-chih posted yesterday (1st), reminding relevant retirees that the pension arrears were officially disbursed on August 1, urging them to take time to check their personal accounts.
Regarding the August 1 disbursement, Chen Chao-chih called on recipients to 'check your accounts promptly.' In addition to the arrears payment, Chen also provided two important supplementary updates. First, she addressed the issue of inconvenient 're-determination notices'—last month, she received public complaints that retired personnel, upon receiving re-determination letters, found that the final actual disbursement amount was not clearly stated, requiring them to calculate it themselves, causing significant inconvenience.
In response to these complaints, Chen immediately demanded that the Ministry of Civil Service review and improve the process. The Ministry has since officially launched an online 'Civil Servant Retirement Income Recalculation Simulator,' allowing retirees to easily verify their actual disbursement amounts online.
The payment disbursed on August 1 covers the pension arrears from the period of December 28, 114 (2025) to July 31, 115 (2026). Regarding the arrears for years 113 and 114, Chen emphasized that she will continue to strongly advocate to ensure that all entitled benefits are recovered. Many netizens have expressed gratitude and are closely following the progress on the recovery of arrears for years 113 and 114.
