The 2026 Tainan Summer Music Festival – General Roar officially launched on the evening of August 1 at Jiangjun Fishing Port, with the first day themed 'Kunshen Grand Gathering.' The event brought together a dynamic lineup including cyber-Taike band MEOZO, popular boy group ARKis, national sweetheart 163braces, punk-pop band Chuda Band, viral sensation C.Holly, and breakout rookie band PALLAS, delivering a powerful mix of热血 rock, pop rap, and healing female vocals. By 8:00 PM, over 53,000 music fans had flooded the venue, making it Southern Taiwan’s most electrifying summer music celebration.
Dedicated fans began arriving before noon, securing prime spots for front-row views of their idols. Performances kicked off at 6:00 PM with PALLAS, C.Holly, Chuda Band, 163braces, and ARKis taking the stage in succession. Around 8:00 PM, Tainan Mayor Huang Wei-che arrived to join the festivities, personally counting down to ignite the year’s first fireworks show, lasting over six minutes. As the sky above Jiangjun Fishing Port lit up with dazzling pyrotechnics, the crowd erupted in cheers, immersing themselves in a magical summer night where music and fireworks intertwined.
The evening culminated with a headline performance by fan-favorite band MEOZO, who led the audience in a massive sing-along with their classic hits, bringing the first day to a热血 and perfect close.
Now in its 15th year, General Roar has become Tainan’s most iconic summer music brand. Mayor Huang expressed gratitude to the performers and staff, emphasizing the festival’s role in showcasing Jiangjun Fishing Port’s coastal scenery and unique seaside charm. Beyond the 13 top-tier musical acts over two days, the event integrates food markets, fireworks, and coastal tourism to create unforgettable summer memories for visitors nationwide.
Tourism Bureau Director Lin Guo-hua reminded those who missed Day One that Day Two, themed 'Jiangjun Dounaore,' would feature artists like versatile performer Wayne Huang, soothing band Southside Ken, youth rock group Gongguan Teens, hitmaker Vivian Wang, and indigenous cover king Ponay. A second 6-minute fireworks display is scheduled, inviting the public to enjoy sea breezes, live music, and dazzling visuals. Live streaming will be available via LINE TV, SET News YouTube, Vidol TV, and the mayoral and Tainan Tourism Facebook pages.
Attendees are advised to bring rain gear and sunscreen due to frequent afternoon thunderstorms, stay hydrated, and participate in the eco-cup discount program. Safety is paramount—visitors are urged not to enter restricted or waterfront zones.
In addition to music, an anti-corruption booth was set up by the Tourism Bureau’s Integrity Office, collaborating with police and Baihe District Office to promote the 'General Roar Against Vote-Buying, Music Without Corruption' campaign. Through interactive activities, the initiative emphasized ethical governance, encouraged citizens to reject vote-buying, and shared common fraud tactics to raise public awareness on integrity and lawfulness.
Day Two (August 2) will continue the momentum with performances by Huang Wei-jin, Nanxi Ken, Gongguan Teens, Wang Yan-wei, Ponay, Sun Shu-mei, and Annie Chen. Another spectacular fireworks show is planned, inviting the nation to experience the ultimate summer night by the sea.
