Zhiyuan Seizer, a band that participated in the 'Open Lab Talent Development Program' jointly promoted by Breeze Center and KGI Education and Culture Foundation, recently performed at Thailand's flagship music festival, Monster Music Festival, through Breeze Center's matchmaking. They were the only overseas group invited this year and marked their first appearance on a major international music festival stage.

For this performance, the organizers provided large-scale festival-standard equipment, including a dedicated drum riser and real-time live video screens—configurations the band members had never experienced before. Seeing their performance broadcast live on a giant screen for the first time, the members shyly said, 'It was our first time performing on a stage with live video playback, and the camera kept focusing on our facial expressions. We’re not sure how we looked—felt a bit shy!'

Unlike most acts at the festival, which leaned toward pop and ballad styles, Zhiyuan Seizer delivered a powerful heavy rock performance, standing out as a bold presence. The band joked, 'We’re like the seasoning at Monster Music Festival—adding a spicy kick to the sweet and soft atmosphere!'

Despite the language barrier, Zhiyuan Seizer captivated hundreds of Thai music fans with their solid live instrumentation, tight and dynamic arrangements, and high-energy stage presence. The audience swayed and cheered along, quickly forming a strong connection. Additionally, several fans from Taiwan traveled to attend the show, bringing the band a heartwarming surprise.

Beyond their own performance, Zhiyuan Seizer took the rare opportunity to observe acts across the festival’s stages, experiencing firsthand the diversity of Thailand’s music scene—from bands and singer-songwriters to idol groups.

The band shared a 'surprise fan moment' backstage, deeply impressed by Thai artists HYE and the band Full Step. They even got lucky enough to meet Full Step’s guitarist and take a photo together. Vocalist Renjie excitedly said, 'Full Step’s style is incredibly charming—I really want to be friends with them!' Bassist Henry joked, 'I need to seriously learn English to have deeper exchanges with more international musicians!'

Reflecting on their journey from the 'Open Lab' program to an international stage, Zhiyuan Seizer admitted that when they first formed, all members were still students. Over the past two years, they’ve steadily grown through repeated performances in areas like instrumental technique, sound control, equipment use, and stage charisma.

Bassist Henry shared that during their Open Lab days two years ago, they were still students and felt somewhat stiff on stage. After two years of live performance experience, they now feel much more at ease and able to enjoy the stage during overseas shows. Still, the members humbly acknowledged there’s much more to learn and improve, and they hope to keep refining their songwriting and live performance skills.

Wu Tianyu, Chairman of KGI Education and Culture Foundation, said, 'This year, we’re honored to co-promote the Open Lab Talent Development Program with Breeze Center. Seeing Zhiyuan Seizer grow from a student band to performing at Thailand’s flagship music festival through real-world experience fills us with pride. As a supporter of the new generation of musicians, the foundation hopes to continue serving as a strong backing force, helping more young Taiwanese artists grow and shine on the international stage.'

Reflecting on the benefits of Open Lab, Zhiyuan Seizer emphasized that the program offered more than just performance opportunities—it allowed creators to fully understand the entire production process, from show planning and rehearsals to the actual performance, accumulating practical experience connected to the industry. They encouraged aspiring musicians: 'If you get the chance, we highly recommend trying it out.'

When asked who they most wanted to thank, Zhiyuan Seizer dedicated their overseas success to Breeze Center, which has supported their growth: 'Without Breeze Center, there would be no Zhiyuan Seizer. We’ll always remember our roots—thank you for having our back on our musical journey.'

After completing their performance at Monster Music Festival, Zhiyuan Seizer is preparing for their next milestone: the release of their second album, 'The Missing Roster.' They will hold a release concert at Breeze Center SUB on October 25, aiming to channel the experience and energy gained from their international stage into their next phase of creation and live performances, continuing to amplify the voices of Taiwan’s new generation of bands.
