The GreTai Securities Market announced today (3rd) that semiconductor filtration equipment manufacturer Ascentec (4556) has been added to the list of suspended stocks. The original suspension period was set from tomorrow (4th) to August 17. However, with the new 'sentence halved' rule taking effect on August 10, Ascentec could be released early after just five trading days, shortening the suspension end date to August 10. This makes Ascentec the first stock to benefit from the new rule.
A new list of suspended stocks in the Taiwan stock market has been revealed, with one stock newly added to the suspension list. According to the GreTai announcement, Ascentec will switch to a matching interval of every 20 minutes starting tomorrow. On August 10, the final day of suspension, the matching interval will be shortened to every 2 minutes.
The GreTai Securities Market explained that Ascentec was placed under suspension because its closing price had cumulatively dropped by 40.8% over the past six trading days, meeting the suspension criteria.
