New Taipei City Mayor Hou You-ih conducted an on-site inspection today (3rd) of the mainline dynamic testing for the Wanda-Zhonghe MRT Line. Following this, he paid a visit to Zhonghe Guangji Temple to pray for the smooth progress of municipal construction projects, and then held discussions with local village chiefs to better understand grassroots development needs.
Mayor Hou emphasized that the city government will continue improving key infrastructure projects in the Wanda-Zhonghe area, including the MRT line itself, laying a solid foundation for local growth. This morning, Hou visited the dynamic test site of the Wanda-Zhonghe-Shulin Line Phase I, which is scheduled for completion by the end of 2027 (116th year of the ROC calendar). Once operational, the line will connect with the Circular Line, Tamsui-Xinyi Line, and Songshan-Xindian Line, significantly enhancing transportation convenience for Zhonghe residents while alleviating passenger volume on the Bannan Line.
In addition to the MRT project, Hou noted that the city has already completed land acquisition and development works north of Xiulang Bridge. Ongoing initiatives include constructing Zhonghe’s second Citizen Sports Center and new facilities for the Zhonghe Police Precinct and Traffic Unit. The city remains committed to advancing local infrastructure to create a more livable environment in Zhonghe.
During the meeting, Mayor Hou expressed gratitude to village leaders for their continuous support of municipal policies, which has enabled smooth implementation of various projects. He also appreciated their feedback on community needs, highlighting the importance of collaboration between local representatives and the city government in driving Zhonghe’s development forward.
