The Tourism Bureau of Taiwan's Ministry of Transportation recently released an updated list of travel agencies under administrative action due to serious operational concerns. Danqu Tao Travel Agency, based in Taichung, was previously reported to have engaged in a fund-raising scam and fleeing incident. Initially ordered to suspend operations by the authorities, it has now had its travel agency license formally revoked by the Tourism Bureau for failing to replenish the legally mandated deposit within the specified period.
Meanwhile, Oceanic International Travel Agency, located in Tainan, was found to have abnormal financial and operational conditions, with severe internal financial difficulties. It has been determined that the company can no longer fulfill its obligations under existing tourism contracts.
The government's basis for these penalties is strictly grounded in legal regulations. In handling major financial and operational crises, the competent authority enforces disciplinary measures in accordance with the law. Regarding Oceanic International's financial crisis, the Tourism Bureau explained that, given the company's inability to maintain normal operations, it has ordered the immediate suspension of its travel business for three months under Article 54, Paragraph 2 of the Tourism Development Act and Article 18 of the Administrative Penalty Act. This administrative measure aims to prevent further damage.
In addition, the Tourism Bureau stated that 60 travel agencies are currently in a state of suspension or extended suspension. These include companies that have either voluntarily reported suspension or been officially notified to cease operations. The list includes: Qicheng Travel Agency, Mifan Travel Agency, Anmei Travel Agency, Enjoy Travel Agency, Dailai International Travel Agency, Hecheng Travel Agency, Baishi Travel Agency, Kuahai Travel Agency, Xingchen Travel Agency, Rihui International Comprehensive Travel Agency, Jiale Xing Travel Agency, Tianqi Travel Agency, Jinyuanyu Travel Agency, Asia Travel Agency, Miqi International Travel Agency, Feimei Travel Agency, Jucheng Travel Agency, Huaxia International Travel Agency, Benzhi Lifestyle Travel Agency, Oule Travel Agency, Huifeng Travel Agency, Jingdian Travel Agency, Huaxia Dadi Travel Agency, Fu'an Travel Agency, Yaxin International Travel Agency, Xiaoma International Travel Agency, Taiwan International Travel Agency, Xinli Travel Agency, Enjoy Taiwan Travel Agency, Hequn Travel Agency, Jinhang International Travel Agency, Shifang Travel Agency, Youzhi Travel Agency, Jinchang Travel Agency, Xinglong Travel Agency, Taixiang Travel Agency, Zaixing International Travel Agency, Jinxing Travel Agency, Ruiqi Travel Agency, Baike Travel Agency, Dahong Travel Agency, Shenghan Travel Agency, Taiwan Convenience Travel Agency, Taipu Travel Agency, Zhongzheng Travel Agency, and Tianwangyou Travel Agency.
