The US Department of Commerce reported on Thursday that, after adjusting for inflation and seasonal factors, the US GDP grew at an annualized quarterly rate of 1.5% in the second quarter—lower than economists’ forecast of 1.8% and a clear slowdown from the first quarter’s 2.1%.
Multiple companies have warned that consumers are becoming increasingly price-sensitive amid persistently high inflation. Procter & Gamble CFO Andre Schulten said, 'Consumer spending is modest but stable. Every consumer is looking for better value in products.'
