What to Do During Water Outage

1. Complete water storage at least 6 hours before the outage to avoid overwhelming the system and leaving no water for end users. 2. As previously reported by Wind Media, turn off home water pumps, booster motors, and electric storage water heaters before the outage to prevent fire hazards. 3. Users with water inlets below ground level should close the main valve before the meter during the outage to prevent back-siphonage contamination. 4. When using a rubber hose to draw water, do not submerge the hose in water to avoid secondary contamination due to siphoning during outage. 5. Upon water restoration, open all valves to purge air and restore supply quickly. Users at pipeline ends or high elevations may experience delayed supply due to low pressure. If no water is available after restoration, contact the water company for assistance.
