KGI Financial Holding is actively building a healthy and sustainable workplace. Recently, it held the inaugural 'KGI Cup Pickleball Tournament' at National Taiwan University's Comprehensive Gymnasium, offering a total prize fund of NT$100,000, attracting over 230 colleagues and their family members from across the group. Employees formed teams across companies and departments, competed in friendly matches, enjoyed parent-child activities, and filled the venue with laughter and cheers—vividly showcasing the passion and vitality of KGI people while deepening cohesion among employees, their families, and the company.
Pickleball, a rapidly growing sport worldwide, blends elements of badminton, tennis, and table tennis. Known for its fast pace and easy learning curve, it appeals to participants of all ages. Beyond athletic competition, KGI’s first pickleball tournament incorporated a philanthropic dimension. The event specially invited young athletes from Gongguan Elementary School’s table tennis team in Yilan and Gushan Elementary School’s badminton team in Kaohsiung—long-term beneficiaries of the 'Our Class’s Dumbo' talent development program supported by the China Development Cultural & Educational Foundation under KGI Financial Holding. Intergenerational rallies on court allowed children to broaden their horizons through sports and added warmth and meaning to the tournament.

Yen Chih-Chien, Executive Deputy General Manager of KGI Financial Holding, stated that the company firmly believes healthy and happy employees are the most vital competitive asset. For KGI, caring for employee well-being goes beyond providing benefits—it aims to encourage healthy lifestyles through diverse activities and increase interaction opportunities, embedding a culture of health, collaboration, and mutual prosperity into daily life.
In preparation for this tournament, the China Development Cultural & Educational Foundation launched a pickleball club last year and organized multiple beginner experience sessions. Within just six months, over 200 colleagues have engaged with and embraced the sport. Many employees have proactively invited friends, family, and even clients to join them on the court, extending the activity from the workplace into personal circles and gradually forming a new mode of connection among group colleagues.
One asset management colleague shared that they rarely interacted with other units during regular work but found that practicing and competing together helped them get to know more teammates and improved interdepartmental synergy. A banking colleague mentioned that bringing their child to a company event allowed the family not only to enjoy sports and games but also to create precious memories together—an invaluable experience.
Beyond the matches, the event featured pickleball-themed fun games and DIY keychain crafting experiences, enabling non-competing colleagues and their families to enjoy the day together. KGI has long promoted a healthy workplace culture—from establishing over 40 regular sports clubs and hosting the annual 'KGI Walker' 10,000-step challenge for five consecutive years, to now launching this pickleball tournament. The company continues to encourage employees to integrate wellness into everyday life and will keep rolling out diverse initiatives to fulfill its commitment to a sustainable workplace, co-creating a vibrant and happy work environment with employees, their families, and society.
