Taichung's investment environment continues to receive strong corporate endorsement, drawing business associations for exchange visits and strategic planning. Director-General Chang Feng-yuan of the Taichung City Government’s Economic Development Bureau welcomed the visiting delegation from the Beijing Taiwan Business Association on behalf of Mayor Lu Hsiu-yen, stating that Taichung’s superior geographical position, complete industrial clusters, and sustained population growth have driven industrial investment and economic development.

According to the latest statistics from the Ministry of Economic Affairs, in the second quarter of 2026 (115th year), Taichung City once again ranked first nationwide in five out of eight economic indicators—including company and commercial registration numbers and capital amounts—marking the 21st consecutive quarter since Q2 2021 (110th year) that it has maintained at least four top national rankings, demonstrating strong investment momentum and economic resilience.

Director Chang explained that rising demand for AI, high-performance computing, and advanced manufacturing processes has led to continued capacity expansion in Taichung’s semiconductor, optics, precision machinery, and automation equipment industries. This growth is further driving simultaneous expansion in manufacturing, services, and construction sectors, creating a virtuous cycle where investment, production, employment, and consumption reinforce one another—making Taichung an attractive destination for corporate investment and industrial exchange.

The Economic Development Bureau noted that the Beijing Taiwan Business Association comprises over 300 members, primarily representatives of Taiwanese enterprises operating in Beijing, spanning diverse industries such as finance, information software, technology services, and consumer goods. The association emphasized that Taiwanese businesses have long been deeply rooted in the Beijing market, accumulating rich experience in cross-market operations. Moving forward, it will continue to serve as an exchange platform, connecting industrial resources across both sides of the strait, providing local support and resource linkages for its members, and promoting enterprise collaboration and mutual benefit.

This visit not only reflects the association’s recognition of Taichung’s industrial strength and investment climate but also aims to help member companies seize market opportunities and strengthen industrial chain integration through bilateral exchanges.

During the visit, the Taichung City Industry Innovation Association and the Beijing Taiwan Business Association formally established a sister-organization partnership, symbolizing the creation of a long-term cooperation and exchange mechanism. Going forward, the city government’s Economic Development Bureau will continue to foster a business-friendly investment environment, integrating central and local resources to support private industry groups in deepening international exchanges and industrial collaboration. The goal is to assist enterprises in establishing a base in Taichung while expanding globally, tapping into overseas markets, and continuously enhancing industrial competitiveness and urban development momentum.
