Public Letter Alleges Mislabeling of ROC Military Boot Origin; Company Clarifies: Sole Mold Is Standard Template, Not Forgery, Prosecutors Drop Case

Recently, a citizen submitted a letter addressing the Ministry of National Defense's 'ROC Military Clothing Sales Station Contract Management Project (Army)', citing an article (https://www.storm.mg/article/11153980) stating: 'In August 2025, another military equipment dispute arose... the Armaments Bureau confirmed false country-of-origin labeling; the batch was seized and returned by Kaohsiung Customs and did not enter military acceptance procedures.' In response, Mr. Zhang Shih-Jen, head of Jen-Mao Co., Ltd., clarified that the origin marking on the combat boot soles used a pre-existing public mold and was not intentionally falsified. After investigation by the Taichung District Prosecutors Office, the case was concluded with a no-indictment disposition, confirming no legal violations. The original letter contained incorrect references that caused confusion for Jen-Mao Co., Ltd., and corrective actions have since been taken. Jen-Mao Co., Ltd. is a local footwear materials supplier based in Taiwan, with extensive core business operations spanning upstream and downstream supply chains.
