Families seeking summer vacation adventures now have a new destination! The Kaohsiung City Indigenous Affairs Commission will launch the 'Maolin Academy Summer Limited Camp' at Maolin Lover's Valley Hot Spring Park from August 7 to 10. Combining large-scale water inflatables, stage performances, tribal markets, real-world escape games, and hot spring play, the event invites visitors of all ages to immerse themselves in cool waters and cultural experiences within the mountainous region.

This year’s theme, 'Maolin Academy,' blends the natural ecology and tribal culture of Maolin by introducing three original IP characters: 'Principal Butterfly,' 'Instructor Rock Carving,' and 'Director Heimi.' These oversized inflatable installations serve as new photo-worthy highlights across the park, enhancing interactive fun for families.

During the event, visitors can access the park for free and enjoy water slides, obstacle tunnels, and splash pools designed for children to beat the summer heat. Weekend schedules include live performances by tribal singers, indigenous dances, magic shows, and bubble performances, alongside a tribal market where guests can taste local cuisine and deepen their understanding of indigenous culture.

Additionally, an immersive puzzle game titled 'The Lost Enrollment Pass' invites participants to explore the park using clues provided by the IP characters. Completing missions rewards players with a limited-edition 'Travel Photo Mini Mirror' as a welcome gift, adding excitement to the visitor experience.

Beyond the special event, Maolin Lover's Valley Hot Spring Park normally features outdoor public baths, wading pools, foot spas, gender-separated bathing areas, grassy play zones, toy experience corners, and a campus library—offering a holistic blend of hot springs, ecology, culture, and leisure.

Hong Yu-shan, Chairperson of the Kaohsiung City Indigenous Affairs Commission, emphasized that through the creative 'Maolin Academy' concept, they aim to transform visits beyond mere hot spring relaxation into meaningful engagements with Maolin’s natural environment and tribal heritage via games, character interactions, and educational activities. The goal is to establish Maolin as a mountain retreat combining tourism, education, and family recreation.

The 'Maolin Academy Summer Limited Camp' runs daily from August 7 to 10, 2024, from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Admission is free during this period, with shuttle service available from Maolin Entrance Image Park to the hot spring park. After the event concludes, the park will remain open every Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM, continuing to offer hot spring soaking, water play, and various experiential activities, inviting visitors to discover the tranquil charm of Maolin’s forests.
