2026 Father's Day Promotion: ID Numbers Unlock Deals! Dine for Just $8 at Hotels and Western Restaurants

Father's Day is approaching, and major restaurants across Taiwan are rolling out exclusive promotions based on ID card numbers. Far Eastern Fino Hotel and Wangpin Group's 'Yuan Shao' are among the popular dining spots offering significant discounts and complimentary items to customers whose ID numbers contain the digit '8'.

At the 'English West Restaurant' of Far Eastern Fino Hotel, a Father's Day promotion runs from August 3 to 9, covering buffet dinners and weekend afternoon tea buffets. Fathers who present their ID cards receive an automatic 88% discount. The more '8's in the ID number, the greater the discount: one '8' grants 80% off, two '8's grant 70% off, three '8's grant 60% off, and four '8's grant 50% off. If the ID contains five or more '8's, the entire meal costs just $8—with no service charge.

Meanwhile, 'Pier'sa Bar' at the same hotel is hosting a 'Dad's Beer Time' promotion. Fathers who visit receive a free draft beer. Additionally, if parents and children successfully complete a teamwork challenge, the child receives a complimentary non-alcoholic sparkling drink.

On the other hand, Wangpin Group's 'Yuan Shao' is running a nationwide promotion for fathers or anyone whose ID contains the number '8', valid until August 31. Customers who order a multi-person set meal will receive a complimentary 'Fish & Shrimp Duo' platter, featuring fish cheek and white shrimp.

Moreover, the 'Yuan Shao Fengshan Qingnian Store' is offering a special deal for Kaohsiung residents. Those who present valid ID and order a set meal by August 16 will receive a 'White Shrimp Feast' with 30 pieces of white shrimp.

Other brands under the Wangpin Group are also launching creative promotions. At 'Sizzler Steakhouse', customers who bring their father and strike a superhero pose while ordering a classic set meal by August 31 will receive a complimentary 'Truffle Roast Chicken Leg'.

At 'Ichi Japanese Cuisine', showing a designated campaign screen when ordering one set meal earns the father a free 'Premium Eel - Tempura-style Grilled'. Ordering two sets adds a 'Chef's Special Angel Red Shrimp Voucher' as an extra gift.
