A new summer destination for family outings has arrived in Taiwan. The 'Kaohsiung Family Amusement Park,' transformed from the former Taiwan Railway Kaohsiung Depot, will officially open on August 8 at 9:30 a.m. This 1.5-hectare semi-outdoor, all-age indoor amusement park features over 30 free attractions. Its semi-indoor design protects visitors from direct sunlight, making it a highly attractive new summer retreat in southern Taiwan.

The park offers a wide variety of facilities suitable for all ages, from toddlers to seniors. Highlights include Taiwan’s first 'Bubble Cloud Trampoline,' the thrilling 'Pump Track – Wave Riding Course,' high-rope challenges testing balance and courage, and multiple sensory play zones. The Taipei City Extreme Sports Association, after a trial visit, praised the park for housing Taiwan’s tallest professional parkour training course, with attractions so engaging that visitors won’t want to leave.

To celebrate the opening, the city government has planned a series of special events. From August 8 to 23, weekend visitors can enjoy a free 'Five-Theme Inflatable Water Park' featuring large slides and water play areas. To manage crowds, entry will be controlled with queue-based access.

In addition to water attractions, popular children’s entertainer Banana Gege (Brother Banana) and Kaohsiung’s mascot Kaohsiung Bear will serve as park ambassadors. Weekend events include YOYO dance performances and meet-and-greets, along with character photo zones and themed markets, offering a rich recreational experience.

Access to the park is extremely convenient. Visitors can take the Kaohsiung Light Rail to 'Kaohsiung Arena–Wuchang Station' and walk just one minute to the venue. To handle weekend crowds, the MRT will operate at 8-minute intervals during peak hours. Additionally, free shuttle buses will run on August weekends between MRT 'Cultural Center Station Exit 3' and Light Rail 'Kaohsiung Arena–Wuchang Station' from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., departing every 20 minutes, encouraging the use of public transportation.
