After the commencement of the 11th Legislative Yuan session, political confrontations between ruling and opposition parties have intensified. Coupled with widespread recall movements and judicial shadows looming over political figures, both the Kuomintang (KMT) and the Taiwan People's Party have resorted to extending sessions as a means to maximize judicial protection. In recognition of the hard work of KMT legislators, KMT caucus convener Fu Kun-chi has established a practice of organizing group trips abroad for KMT lawmakers at the end of each session or before a new one begins.

According to Storm Media, the sixth session of the Legislative Yuan will officially resume on September 2. Fu Kun-chi plans to lead a delegation of legislators to Phu Quoc Island in Vietnam on September 4, aiming to refresh members ahead of the demanding new session and upcoming local elections.

After the 2024 presidential and legislative elections, Fu Kun-chi assumed the role of KMT caucus leader. Beyond rewarding his colleagues' efforts, he is also strategically positioning himself for a potential vice-presidential bid. Over the past two years, he has led multiple overseas delegations, including a visit to China in 2024, a trip to Japan in 2025 where he met with members of Japan’s House of Representatives, and participation in a Taiwanese business event in Indonesia in 2026.

The current fifth session of the legislature ran its full course, extending all the way to August 31. With the new session set to begin on September 2, Fu Kun-chi has already begun organizing a trip departing on September 4 to Phu Quoc Island—the largest island in Vietnam, renowned as the 'Pearl Island'—to honor the dedication of KMT legislators. The island is celebrated for its tropical climate and high-end resort amenities, making it an ideal destination for rest and networking.
