On the occasion of Father's Day, New Taipei mayoral candidate Li Sichuan attended the 'Shulin Senior Citizens' Association Father's Day Banquet' today (August 8), extending blessings to all fathers worldwide. Shulin Senior Citizens' Association Chairman Hsieh Wen-jung accompanied Li throughout the event and joined him on stage to lead the entire audience in chanting 'Dong Suan' (a homophone for 'election victory'). As Li greeted guests table by table, he was warmly welcomed by local residents, with many requesting photos, creating an energetic and enthusiastic atmosphere.
Li Sichuan stated that he will apply his practical experience from the construction of Taipei's Small Arena and his role in resolving bottlenecks during the development of Taipei's Large Dome as Taipei Deputy Mayor, to advance the New Taipei Dome City project in Shulin. He has also proposed the 'Da-Han River MRT Spine Line' policy, aiming to simultaneously promote comprehensive development in the Xinan region.
Reflecting on Father's Day, Li shared a heartwarming story: in March this year, during a volunteer firefighter event, a young couple presented him with their marriage certificate that he had once officiated and joyfully announced they were expecting a child. Two days ago, at Xizhi Xingshan Temple, he coincidentally met the parents of the same volunteer firefighter couple and learned their grandson had been born safely, which deeply moved and surprised him. Li pledged that upon becoming mayor, he will fully implement his proposed family-friendly and child-rearing policies to make New Taipei the most supportive city for parenting.
Li also declared his vision for local development. Former Mayor Hou Yu-ih announced the New Taipei Large Dome would be located in Shulin. As mayor, Li will draw on his experience in promoting the construction of Taipei's Small Dome and resolving the impasse of the Taipei Large Dome as Deputy Mayor of Taipei City, combined with his track record in urban planning during his tenure at the New Taipei City Government, to holistically plan surrounding infrastructure and accelerate the New Taipei Dome City project, turning it into a new urban landmark.
Li emphasized that he has already proposed the 'Da-Han River MRT Spine Line' policy. As mayor, he will advance this project in parallel, starting from Dadaocheng in Taipei City, connecting Sanchong, the Second Administrative Center of New Taipei, Xinzhuang, Wenzihun, Shulin Dome City, and the Xinan region, significantly improving the daily lives of Shulin residents. His policy announcements received enthusiastic responses from the local community, with attendees repeatedly chanting 'Dong Suan!'
The event was also attended by New Taipei City Councilor Lu Chia-kai and Taiwan People's Party New Taipei City Council candidate Wu Ya-lun, who joined in the celebration.
