The global supply chain landscape is undergoing another reshuffle. Everlight Electronics, a leading LED packaging manufacturer, held a groundbreaking ceremony today in Chachoengsao Province, Thailand, officially launching the construction of its Southeast Asian manufacturing base. The new plant is scheduled to be completed and begin mass production in the second half of 2027, targeting the AI server, industrial control, and automotive markets, and will serve as a key pillar in Everlight’s China+1 strategy.
As global supply chains accelerate restructuring amid geopolitical shifts and evolving international trade dynamics, companies continue to diversify their production bases. Everlight stated that the Thailand plant will be the group’s largest and most advanced manufacturing facility in Southeast Asia, with an overall scale expected to surpass its existing Suzhou plant.
The facility will deploy highly automated and intelligent production lines to enhance manufacturing efficiency, product quality consistency, and delivery flexibility. This will strengthen global supply capabilities and reduce operational risks associated with over-reliance on a single region.
Everlight sees optocouplers as the next major growth driver, with related product revenue expected to exceed 40%. The share of automotive products is also steadily increasing. Once operational, the Thailand plant will serve global automakers, Tier-1 suppliers, and industrial and AI server customers, providing more flexible and locally backed production support.
Everlight’s management emphasized that the groundbreaking of the Thailand plant marks a foundational step in the company’s next decade of global strategy. Moving forward, the company will continue to strengthen its competitiveness in the optoelectronic semiconductor market through optimized cost structures, advanced packaging technologies, and regional manufacturing deployments.
Everlight noted that the Thailand facility not only responds to international customers’ demand for diversified production locations but also enhances supply chain resilience and reduces the risk of supply disruptions. As new production capacity comes online, the company will further expand into international markets, injecting fresh momentum into its medium- to long-term operations.
