Media personality Huang Kuang-chin interviewed Democratic Progressive Party Taipei mayoral candidate Shen Po-yang today (10th), during which she mentioned that Hsu Chiao-hsin was actually the first to change her impression of Shen, stating that 'he is very communicative and pleasant in private.' This clip quickly sparked online discussion and drew protest from Hsu Chiao-hsin. In response, Huang reposted the segment on Facebook, clarifying that she had received Hsu’s complaint. While Hsu does not deny having described Shen as 'polite in private' and less ideological than on TV, she emphasized this does not equate to saying 'he is easy to get along with.'

Huang stressed that due to a vague memory, her offhand paraphrase caused a misrepresentation, leading to unnecessary controversy. Some netizens even used the incident to attack Hsu, which Huang regretted. 'If this caused Hsu any trouble, I sincerely apologize,' she wrote.

During the interview, Huang recalled that Hsu had appeared on her show and commented that Shen was 'easy to communicate with in private.' When Shen first came for an interview, Huang said she found this to be true—ordinary people rarely get to see the real Shen Po-yang.

The clip gained traction online, with Ko Chien-ming’s aide, Chou Hsuan, sharing it and joking, 'Huang Kuang-chin just spilled the beans—Hsu said Puma [Shen] is super easygoing off-camera.'

Huang responded, 'If this caused any distress to Legislator Hsu, I’m sorry.' She explained that during today’s interview with Shen, she casually referenced a memory from over two years ago by saying, 'Legislator Hsu said you’re easy to get along with in private.' She was surprised when netizens seized on the comment and amplified it.

After brief communication, Huang acknowledged that Hsu did not deny possibly describing Shen as 'polite in private' during a May 2024 interview about legislative violence, noting he appears less ideological off-camera. However, Hsu insisted this is not the same as saying 'he is easy to get along with.'

Hsu Chiao-hsin commented directly under Huang’s post: 'Thank you, sister, for the clarification! Huang only briefly mentioned it, and I believe most people wouldn’t overinterpret it. Those with ulterior motives are the real issue.' Hsu explained that Shen indeed appears less ideologically charged off-camera, and she has publicly stated he is 'polite'—a personal assessment based on over three years of observation. However, she emphasized they have no private relationship or communication, so there is no basis for claiming they have 'spent time together privately.'

Huang reiterated that Hsu and Shen have no private contact—not even a LINE message—and no personal relationship. 'So how could she say he’s “easy to get along with” in private?' Huang admitted her loose paraphrase based on a hazy memory caused unintended trouble and expressed regret over how it was exploited online.
