The 'Han Kuang 42' live-fire exercise continues as Defense Minister Ku Li-hsiung conducted an inspection of the garrison command center on the morning of the 10th, discussing combat readiness with officers and providing guidance while commending troops for their efforts. Ku emphasized that in the face of complex and dynamic battlefield conditions, the military must not only strengthen the resilience of its overall defense command and control systems but also establish robust decentralized command and backup mechanisms to achieve effective decentralized operational capabilities.
The Ministry of National Defense stated that the armed forces have been actively engaged in the 'Han Kuang 42' live-fire exercise over recent days. Minister Ku, accompanied by Deputy Minister Hsu Szu-chien and the Commander of the Military Police, General Cheng, arrived at the garrison command center for inspection. During the visit, Ku first received a battlefield briefing to understand the operation of the garrison’s command, control, and communications (C3) systems and defensive deployment. He then exchanged views with officers on intelligence transmission, command and control, communications and information backup, and air defense operations.
Ku stressed that establishing sound communication, coordination, and liaison mechanisms between garrison and operational zones is crucial. Rapid intelligence transmission and the creation of a comprehensive operational picture are essential to ensure thorough defensive arrangements and enable all levels of command to promptly grasp enemy movements, make swift decisions, and take immediate action.
Ku emphasized that in response to complex and evolving battlefield environments, the military must not only enhance the resilience of its overall defense command and control systems but also fully establish decentralized command and backup mechanisms to maximize decentralized command effectiveness. He particularly commended the troops for their unwavering dedication and diligent execution of duties during prolonged, high-intensity drills, and encouraged them to continue refining their adaptability, responsiveness, and joint operational capabilities through exercises to safeguard national security with robust combat strength.
