The aroma of night market delicacies filled the air as even Chuan Pay's CEO came to enjoy a feast. Invited by the Taipei City Market Administration, Chuan Pay CEO Eugene Yu toured the Linjiang Street Night Market, sampling popular street food and interacting with vendors and consumers, personally experiencing the warmth and vibrant consumer energy of Taipei's night markets.
Yu first visited Hong Hua Tian Hou Spicy Salted Chicken, where fresh ingredients are tossed in a fragrant, numbing, and flavorful house-made sauce, offering a rich and layered taste. He then moved on to Hong Kong Da Cha Dang, enjoying authentic Hong Kong-style beverages and snacks, experiencing the diverse cultural fusion as Cantonese cuisine integrates into Taipei's night market scene.
Yu remarked that the most captivating aspect of night markets isn't just the wide array of food, but the years of craftsmanship and stories behind each stall. Every time consumers visit a night market, they directly support local vendors and night market culture.
He pointed out that digital payments have gradually become part of night market life in recent years, improving checkout convenience and enabling more promotional campaigns to reach traditional markets. This year, Chuan Pay launched its first collaboration with the Taipei City Market Administration—offering dining discounts under the 'Night Market Feast' campaign—aiming to attract visitors of all age groups and bring more foot traffic and business opportunities to vendors.
The Taipei City Market Administration is promoting night market culture through the '2026 Taipei Night Market Feast' initiative. This year marks the first time partnering with Chuan Pay to offer consumer rebates, encouraging people to savor local flavors and support street vendors through tangible actions. The administration emphasized that while night markets should preserve their traditional warmth, they must also continuously adopt new services to enhance consumer convenience.
Yu expressed hope that digital payments will serve as a bridge connecting consumers and local vendors. He looks forward to integrating more consumption venues in the future, using diverse promotions to support the joint growth of night markets and their vendors.
