The live-fire drills of Han Kuang Exercise 42 are ongoing. Today (12th), the Fourth Operational Area adjusted its troop deployment according to the operational timeline, integrating units including the Thunder 2000 multiple launch rocket system and the land-based Sky Sword II surface-to-air missile system. These forces have mobile-deployed to designated tactical positions to carry out fire support and key point protection missions.
Upon arrival at their operational zones, personnel swiftly completed equipment deployment, communication setup, and combat readiness preparations. Maintaining mobility and adaptability in response to simulated enemy movements, they are supporting assigned units in executing follow-on combat operations.
The Fourth Operational Area stated that during the exercise, the Thunder 2000 system has been dynamically deployed according to operational needs, providing timely fire support. Meanwhile, the land-based Sky Sword II missile system is responsible for area air defense and the protection of critical assets. Through coordinated firepower, a multi-layered system of fire support and defense has been established, enhancing the safety and sustained combat effectiveness of frontline units.
The exercise emphasizes command and control, mobile deployment, fire coordination, and rapid response under realistic battlefield conditions. It aims to strengthen the unit's strike efficiency and point defense capabilities, ensuring forces can swiftly reposition and maximize joint operational effectiveness based on evolving battlefield scenarios.
