TRA Announces 2026 Industry-Academia Recruitment Starting August 6, Offering 42 Regular and Alternate Positions for Professional Talent

To continue cultivating talent through industry-academia collaboration and help students transition their academic knowledge into practical railway technical roles, the state-owned Taiwan Railways Administration Corporation (TRA) is conducting the '2026 Staff (Industry-Academia Collaboration) Recruitment Examination.' Online applications will be accepted from August 6 to August 20, 2026. A total of 42 positions—14 regular and 28 alternate—are available across disciplines including electrical, mechanical, civil engineering, architectural engineering, telecommunications, and power systems. Qualified candidates are encouraged to apply.

TRA states that this recruitment primarily targets students or alumni who previously participated in industry-academia collaboration programs conducted by the former Ministry of Transportation and Communications' Taiwan Railways Administration or TRA and have completed the required internship training. Applicants must submit a certificate of successful completion of the industry-academia internship and other required documents as specified in the examination guidelines. The examination consists of multiple stages: physical fitness test, written exam, and either an interview or practical skills test. Recruitment and assignment are conducted by region. Candidates applying for positions in the Northern, Central, or Southern regions will take the exam in the Northern region, while those applying for the Eastern region will take it in the Eastern region. Upon hiring, successful candidates will be assigned to work on track and civil infrastructure, rolling stock and mechanical-electrical equipment, signaling and communications, or power systems, depending on job requirements. They will undergo foundational training and professional skill development to gradually accumulate practical railway technical experience.

Starting salaries for these positions range from approximately NT$37,230 to NT$40,010, depending on the role. TRA will subsequently implement salary adjustments and general raises in line with the '2027 Military, Civil Servant, and Educator Compensation Enhancement Plan' announced by the Executive Yuan.
