On the 14th, the Legislative Yuan convened a plenary session to handle the 115th central government budget bill, which had been delayed for nearly a year. After several rounds of intense voting by legislators from both sides, Speaker Han Kuo-yu gavelled the third reading and announced its passage. Subsequently, Han emphasized that the Premier cannot refuse to sign and execute laws that have been passed in a third reading, stressing the importance of democratic constitutionalism in Taiwan. The Executive Yuan submitted the budget bill to the Legislative Yuan in August 2025, but the opposition parties delayed its review, citing insufficient budget allocations for military personnel and firefighters' rights. The budget bill was eventually passed in a third reading with a total expenditure reduction of 48 billion yen.
