The Sanmin Sports Center is continuously optimizing its facilities based on actual public usage needs during its trial operation. Today (15th), the Kaohsiung City Sports Administration announced that, in response to public and legislative concerns regarding gym space and equipment layout, the operating team has reconfigured the venue's circulation, increasing the number of treadmills from the original 4 to 15. This scale is now comparable to the 12 treadmills at Gushan Sports Center and the 15 at Nanziheng Sports Center. Additional professional fitness equipment will continue to be procured and evaluated in the future.
To encourage citizens to take advantage of the trial operation period, the free gym experience offer will be extended until September 15.
The Sports Administration stated that the Sanmin Sports Center is continuously adjusting services based on public feedback. In addition to expanding treadmill capacity, the team will continue to assess gym usage demands and gradually improve equipment configuration. The public is welcome to visit, experience the facilities, and provide suggestions, which will serve as important references for future equipment expansion and service optimization.
Regarding public concerns about swimming pool water quality, the Sports Administration emphasized that all water quality tests are currently normal. Before each session, the operating team conducts water quality checks to ensure pH and residual chlorine levels meet the standards set by the "Kaohsiung City Business Hygiene Guidance Interim Measures," with all test results fully documented. Additionally, pool entry numbers are continuously controlled to maintain stable water quality.
The Administration explained that on the first day of trial operation, August 5, afternoon pool usage was high due to the summer vacation, temporarily causing cloudy water. The operating team immediately took corrective action after swimmers left, and water quality returned to normal that evening. The following day, the local health office conducted an on-site inspection, confirming the pool water was clear and test results were normal. The Sports Administration has instructed the operating team to continuously strengthen on-site crowd control and water quality management to ensure public safety.
Furthermore, in response to public requests for basic services, the Sports Administration has supervised the operating team to provide free hair dryers and add shoe lockers and shoe-changing seats to enhance venue convenience.
The Sports Administration stated that the Sanmin Sports Center remains in the trial operation phase and will continue collecting public usage experiences and suggestions, guiding the operating team to accelerate the implementation of various improvements and expansions, gradually perfecting facilities and services to create a safer, more convenient, and comfortable sports environment. The free gym trial offer has been extended to September 15, and the public is encouraged to visit and experience the center.
