New Taipei mayoral candidate and legislator Su Chiao-hui established two supporter associations today (15th). In the morning, she launched the 'Yunlin Township Association,' followed by the 'New Taipei Lin Clan Association' in Wugu District in the afternoon. The venue was packed with Lin clan members and supporters, with seats completely filled and crowds spilling outside, creating a vibrant and energetic atmosphere.
In recognition of the Lin clan’s ancestral connection to Mazu—'Lin Moniang'—Su led the audience in a spirited rendition of 'Pink Supercar,' the theme song of the Baishatun Mazu pilgrimage. The entire hall joined in a powerful chorus, pushing the event’s energy to its peak.
Su was warmly welcomed upon arrival, with attendees rushing to shake her hand and take photos. Some even shouted, 'My entire family supports you!' Cheers and chants of 'Dong-suan!' (freeze garlic, a homophone for 'vote') echoed throughout, showcasing the strong unity and support from the Lin clan.
Su emphasized that the Lin clan has a deep cultural heritage and strong tradition of solidarity, with members taking pride in their shared identity. She stated that this same cohesion should be applied to city governance. If elected mayor, she aims to build a strong civic identity: 'Let every New Taipei citizen take pride in New Taipei!'
She noted that over the past two years, she has participated in over 35 Lin clan association events—from early-morning board meetings in Shuangxi, to attending Mazu processions in Tamsui after events in Wanshan and Tamsui. Despite New Taipei’s vast size and tight schedule, she has made every effort to attend in person.
'I’ve been engaging with communities across New Taipei not just during elections, but through long-term grassroots efforts that have built trust and relationships. No matter how far, I’ll do my best to attend whenever there’s an event,' she said.
Lin Ching-hsiang, Honorary Chairman of the Taiwan Lin Clan Association; Lin Chun-chieh, Chairman of the New Taipei Lin Clan Association; and Honorary Chairmen Lin Chin-fa and Lin Feng-fu also attended, publicly rallying clan support behind Su.
Su praised the New Taipei Lin Clan Association for its strong organizational cohesion and long-standing commitment to public welfare, including distributing senior citizen allowances, offering scholarships, and donating rehabilitation buses and mobile food trucks—extending care to every corner of the community.
These sustained charitable efforts, she said, reflect the Lin clan’s strong organizational culture and inspire members to engage in public affairs. She believes this spirit can be transformed into a force for city governance. Moving forward, she will promote the 'Turning Satellites into Stars' initiative, empowering all 29 districts of New Taipei to develop according to their unique characteristics, interconnect, and shine collectively.
On New Taipei’s future development, Su stated that she will immediately establish an 'Urban Renewal Bureau' upon taking office to accelerate urban renewal, improve aging buildings and living environments, and ensure residents live more safely and securely.
For tourism, she proposed the 'New Crown Coast' and 'Diamond Mountain City' plans, aiming to link coastal and mountainous townships to create a globally recognizable New Taipei tourism brand—showcasing the city’s natural beauty, cultural heritage, and local charm to domestic and international visitors.
For industrial development, Su will promote the Shulin Dagan Garden Technology Park, Bali Taipei Port Smart Logistics Value Park, Danhai Science City, and the Xizhi–Nangang Smart Biomedical Industry Corridor. By integrating and upgrading industrial spaces, she aims to drive New Taipei’s next phase of economic growth.
Su emphasized that New Taipei’s 29 districts each have unique characteristics. With new ideas, innovative methods, and faster administrative efficiency, she will ensure every district has a platform to thrive—'turning satellites into stars'—to jointly build a more competitive and livable New Taipei.
At the event’s conclusion, Su and attendees once again sang 'Pink Supercar' together. As Mazu Lin Moniang is a key spiritual symbol for the Lin clan, the song has been frequently performed at past clan gatherings. The venue erupted in cheers and singing, bringing the supporter rally to a triumphant climax.
The event was attended by legislators Lin Shu-fen, Lee Kun-cheng, and Lin Chu-ying; New Taipei City Councilors Lin Ping-yu, Chen Nai-yu, and Weng Chen-chou; Taipei City Councilor Lin Liang-chun; New Taipei City Council candidates Tai Ling-yu, Yu Ming-yen, and Chen Tai-yin; and members of Councilor Lee Yu-tien’s team—demonstrating strong local support.
