The Directorate General of Budget, Accounting and Statistics (DGBAS) has released the latest 2025 (114th year) Household Income and Expenditure Survey report. The average disposable income per household across Taiwan reached NT$1.21 million, a 3.9% increase from the previous year, continuing to set a new historical high. Hsinchu City and Hsinchu County have become the first regions to surpass the average household annual income threshold of NT$2 million. Real estate expert Ho Shih-chang stated, "The technology industry is continuously reshaping Taiwan's household income landscape. Hsinchu County and City have become a battleground for the elite."
Taiwan's wealthiest counties and cities have been reshuffled! According to DGBAS data and analysis by real estate expert Ho Shih-chang on his Facebook page "Ho Shih-chang's Real Estate Knowledge Buffet+", Hsinchu County has overtaken Taipei City to rank second in household disposable income for 2025.
Benefiting from the complete high-tech industrial cluster in the Hsinchu Science Park and the rising AI business opportunities in recent years, the growth momentum of disposable income in Hsinchu County and City remains strong.
2025 Average Household Income by County/City: Four major municipalities exceed the national average, while Tainan and Kaohsiung fall below.

Ho Shih-chang analyzed that besides the outstanding performance of Hsinchu County and City, the spillover effect of the technology industry cluster on surrounding counties is also significant, with Miaoli County's transformation being particularly notable:
· Tech giants' presence: Benefiting from the entry of tech giants such as TSMC, Micron, and Phison · Ranking reversal: Over a decade ago, Miaoli County's household income was lower than Yilan County and Keelung City, but it has now successfully reversed this situation · Latest income ranking: Miaoli County's average household income has risen to 9th nationwide; in terms of household income median, it ranks 7th nationwide
Taiwan's Household Income Steadily Growing! Forecast: All Counties to Exceed NT$1 Million Within 2 Years
Regarding Taiwan's overall income trend, Ho Shih-chang stated that the technology industry continues to transform the DNA of household income in Taiwan, with overall household income maintaining steady growth.
Based on the current growth rate, it is estimated that even Taitung County, currently the lowest-ranked, will reach an average household income of NT$1 million in about two years. At that point, Taiwan may officially enter a new era where "all counties and cities have average household income exceeding NT$1 million. "
