The Directorate General of Budget, Executive Yuan has released the latest results of its household income and expenditure survey. In 2025 (114), the average disposable income per household across Taiwan reached NT$1.21 million, marking a 3.9% year-on-year increase and setting a new historical high.
In the city and county rankings, benefiting from the high-tech industry and AI business boom, Hsinchu City secured the top spot with NT$1.604 million, while Hsinchu County surpassed Taipei City’s NT$1.554 million with NT$1.569 million, rising to second place nationwide.
The ranking of Taiwan’s wealthiest counties and cities in 2025 has undergone a major reshuffle! Hsinchu City maintains its championship position with NT$1.604 million, while Hsinchu County has overtaken Taipei City to claim second place.
According to analysis by the Directorate General of Budget, Hsinchu City and County benefit from the Hsinchu Science Park, which hosts a complete high-tech industrial cluster. In recent years, the global AI boom has continuously elevated household disposable income to the top tier across Taiwan.
In 114, Hsinchu City recorded a per-household disposable income of NT$1.604 million, a significant 6.7% increase from NT$1.503 million in 113. Hsinchu County also grew from NT$1.481 million in 113 to NT$1.569 million, successfully overtaking Taipei City to claim the runner-up position.

Among the six major cities, Taipei City, as the political, economic, and financial center, recorded a per-household disposable income of NT$1.554 million in 2025 (up from NT$1.485 million in 2024), dropping to third place nationwide.
Among the six major cities, Taipei, New Taipei, Taoyuan, and Taichung all have average per-household disposable incomes exceeding the national average (NT$1.21 million). Tainan City (NT$1.044 million) and Kaohsiung City (NT$1.206 million) fall below the national average.
Household consumption and savings also grew simultaneously! Average household savings reached NT$290,000
