Wieson Technology announced that its self-developed WIESON Ultra96 Cable (2-meter) has completed testing and certification procedures at an HDMI Forum-authorized test center, obtaining the Ultra96 HDMI Cable certification. The product model is AB9856-40113020-00. The company stated that the certification of the 2-meter cable represents a significant advancement in HDMI 2.2 product development and will further expand applications in the 96Gbps high-speed audiovisual transmission market.

2-Meter Product Verified, Strengthening High-Speed Cable Design Capabilities
Wieson stated that the product testing was conducted by UL Solutions, completing the certification process through high-speed transmission product testing and verification services. The company believes this achievement reflects its R&D accumulation in high-speed cable design, signal integrity, impedance control, and quality management.
Wieson has long invested in high-speed connector and cable technologies, covering high-frequency materials, signal simulation, connector design, and product testing. The company stated it will leverage this certification as a foundation to continuously advance the development of next-generation audiovisual transmission products.
Bandwidth Increased to 96Gbps, Meeting Demand for High Resolution and High Refresh Rates
According to official HDMI specifications, the Ultra96 HDMI Cable introduced with HDMI 2.2 supports a maximum transmission bandwidth of 96Gbps. In contrast, the Ultra High Speed HDMI Cable introduced with HDMI 2.1 has a maximum bandwidth of 48Gbps. The new cable doubles the bandwidth limit, enabling support for higher resolution, higher refresh rates, and higher data volume audiovisual transmission.
HDMI 2.2 also introduces the Latency Indicator Protocol (LIP), allowing source devices to determine latency adjustment needs and improve audio-video synchronization, especially in setups involving AV receivers, soundbars, and other equipment. This feature is part of the HDMI specification's audio-video synchronization mechanism and operates independently of the transmission bandwidth provided by the cable.
Certification Program Validates Product Specifications, Expanding High-Speed AV Applications
HDMI's official regulations require both Ultra96 HDMI Cable and Ultra High Speed HDMI Cable to be included in the Ultra HDMI Cable Certification Program. Each product model must pass certification testing at an HDMI Forum-authorized test center and meet low electromagnetic interference (EMI) requirements. After certification, products must include a certification label on packaging for users to verify certification details.
Wieson stated that the certification of its 2-meter product will help expand high-bandwidth audiovisual transmission applications. The company will continue investing in high-speed interconnect technologies and verification capabilities to meet the evolving specifications of audiovisual equipment.
