The Warmest Mid-Autumn Gesture: 2026 Lin Yi-Tien Memorial Blood Donation Event Held at Dali Blood Center on September 27

After experiencing their father’s critical illness and emergency treatment, the Lin sisters from Dali have deeply understood the true meaning of 'donating blood to save lives.' This year, they are continuing their charitable initiative with the '2026 Mr. Lin Yi-Tien Memorial Blood Donation Campaign,' to be held on Sunday, September 27, at the Dali Blood Center. Participants will receive thank-you gifts including Uni-President gift vouchers, Da-An Farmers’ Association's 1kg Anquan rice, Dali Farmers’ Association peach and lychee sparkling drink 6-pack gift boxes, and osmanthus oolong tea sachets in 5-piece gift boxes (limited quantities, while supplies last), as a token of appreciation for these unsung heroes of blood donation.

One bag of donated blood can save not just one life. After collection, 'whole blood' undergoes rigorous testing. Once confirmed safe, it is centrifuged to separate components such as red blood cells, white blood cells, platelets, and plasma. These components are then processed into specialized medical blood products used to treat various blood disorders and patients suffering from massive blood loss.

Last November, the Lin sisters hosted their first 'Mr. Lin Yi-Tien Memorial Blood Donation Campaign,' which received strong support from compassionate individuals. On that day, 144 people donated blood, totaling 230 units. This year marks the second annual event, specially scheduled on September 27—Mr. Lin’s birthday. The sisters shared that although blood transfusions during their father’s final days did not ultimately save his life, they granted him one precious additional day. As a tribute, they have decided to hold this blood donation campaign annually around their father’s birthday weekend.

The '2026 Mr. Lin Yi-Tien Memorial Blood Donation Campaign' will take place on Sunday, September 27, from 9:30 AM to 6:00 PM at the Dali Blood Center of the Taichung Blood Center. Despite falling on the Mid-Autumn Festival and Teachers’ Day long weekend, the sisters sincerely invite all generous blood donors—the 'unsung heroes'—to join this warmest act of kindness during the festive season. By giving blood, participants help circulate love and compassion throughout society. In addition to Uni-President gift vouchers, the event has received generous support from friends and partners: cash donations from Mr. Lin’s close friends Cai Wen-Ming and Wang Pei-Lin; 100 boxes of premium 5-piece osmanthus oolong tea sachet gift sets donated by Nantou’s renowned tea merchant 'Ming Yang Si Hai Tea House'; 100 packs of 1kg locally grown high-quality 'Anquan Rice' from the Da-An Farmers’ Association; and 100 sets of sweet and fragrant peach-lychee sparkling drink 6-packs from the Dali Farmers’ Association (limited quantities, while supplies last).

The Dali Blood Center reminds potential donors that individuals aged 17 to 65, weighing at least 45 kg, and in generally good health are eligible to donate. Donors must bring valid identification or a National Health Insurance card with a clear photo. It is recommended to avoid alcohol the night before donation and ensure at least six hours of restful sleep. Everyone is warmly encouraged to join the ranks of blood donors.
