Taichung's first community sports center, the 'Wuri Community Sports Center,' built with a total investment of approximately NT$390 million by the city government, will launch a 7-day trial operation from October 12 to 18. During the trial period, courts and the fitness center will be open for free, and multiple free experience courses—including aerobic, yoga, strength training, and ball games—will be available, inviting citizens to visit the new venue and experience its facilities and programs.

Sports Bureau Director You Zhixiang stated that Mayor Lu Hsiu-yen places high importance on citizens' fitness needs, and the city government continues to improve sports spaces across districts. The Wuri Community Sports Center is Taichung’s first such facility, serving children, adults, and seniors alike. It integrates baseball, physical fitness, ball sports, and diverse exercise programs, and incorporates smart fitness equipment to provide residents of Wuri and surrounding areas with more convenient and varied exercise options.

According to the Sports Bureau, the Wuri Community Sports Center is a three-story building designed around four core concepts: 'all-age friendly, intelligent sustainability, environmental harmony, and playful乐园.' The first floor's 'Baseball Training Zone' features interactive batting and pitching training equipment, creating an indoor baseball space suitable for both experiential use and foundational training. It also includes the 'FUN Wind Sports Area,' children's movement instruction zone, yoga studio, and multipurpose classroom. The second floor houses the fitness center, equipped with a smart fitness system, along with dedicated tech zones for seniors and a women-only area. The third floor features a multi-purpose court usable for badminton, basketball, and other sports, enabling people of all ages to find their ideal workout space.

During the trial operation, citizens can freely use the courts and fitness center. The venue will also offer various free experience classes in aerobics, yoga, strength training, and ball games. Online registration is now open, with limited spots available—citizens are encouraged to seize this opportunity. Additionally, opening promotions are available: until October 11, sports workshops and Fitness Vitality Cards are offered at a 20% discount, and personal training courses are eligible for discounts upon online form submission. For more information, please visit the venue’s official website (https://wrcsc.cyc.org.tw/) or Facebook fan page (https://www.facebook.com/wrcscfacebook).

The Sports Bureau added that during the trial period, facility equipment, traffic flow, and service procedures will be reviewed and continuously adjusted based on public feedback. After the trial concludes, the center will temporarily close for preparations and is scheduled to officially open on October 22. Citizens are warmly invited to come and get active.
