President Lai Presents 'Lin-Yu Pu-Hua' Plaque at Xinzhuang Cuiyou Temple, Endorsing Su Tsao-hui: Universal $10,000 Payout Was Her Personal Suggestion

Marking the 340th anniversary of Xinzhuang Cuiyou Temple this year, President Lai Ching-te and New Taipei mayoral candidate and legislator Su Tsao-hui paid a visit to the temple on the 24th for incense offering and blessings. President Lai personally presented a congratulatory plaque inscribed with 'Lin-Yu Pu-Hua,' expressing gratitude for the temple’s longstanding protection of the local community and praying for national stability, peace, and favorable weather conditions.

During his speech, President Lai publicly commended Su Tsao-hui’s performance in the Legislative Yuan. With Taiwan’s semiconductor and AI industries thriving and economic growth projections being continuously revised upward, the government plans to universally disburse NT$10,000 per person, allowing every hardworking household to share in the fruits of economic growth. This initiative will be implemented under the principles of balanced revenue and expenditure and de facto zero additional debt, with an increase of NT$235.7 billion in expenditures. President Lai specifically noted that the suggestion for universal cash disbursement was directly proposed by Su Tsao-hui herself, praising her not only for consistently securing construction resources for New Taipei but also for her concern for citizens’ livelihoods and welfare.

President Lai emphasized that Su Tsao-hui has excelled in the Legislative Yuan, persistently advocating for central government construction projects and resources for New Taipei City. He expressed hope that during the upcoming year-end elections, voters will support Su so she can lead New Taipei into a new phase of development.

Su Tsao-hui stated that Taiwan’s economic growth has reached recent highs. During the Executive Yuan’s compilation of the next fiscal year’s overall budget, many DPP legislators shared the consensus that part of the government’s tax revenue should be returned to the people through universal cash disbursement, enabling citizens to directly enjoy the benefits of economic growth. As such, she represented relevant legislators in proposing this idea to President Lai and Premier Cho Jung-tai, thanking the president and the administration for making a swift decision after carefully assessing government fiscal expenditures. She hopes the next fiscal year’s budget will pass smoothly, allowing all citizens to receive the NT$10,000 disbursement as soon as possible.

Su Tsao-hui highlighted that over the past decade, she and local legislator Wu Bing-ruei have continuously lobbied the central government for resource allocation to Xinzhuang—not only improving local public infrastructure but also further strengthening the foundation for Xinzhuang’s tourism and cultural development. Among these efforts, they successfully secured over NT$300 million in subsidies from the Forward-Looking Infrastructure Program for the underground parking facility at Xinzhuang Sports Park, providing 636 car parking spaces and 140 motorcycle spaces, thereby alleviating local parking shortages. Additionally, they ensured the National Film and Audiovisual Cultural Center remains in Xinzhuang, providing 830 combined car and motorcycle parking spaces and creating conditions for future development of the film and television cultural industry in Xinzhuang.

Su Tsao-hui emphasized that with the National Film and Audiovisual Cultural Center established in Xinzhuang, there will be greater potential to integrate audiovisual cultural resources, possibly evolving toward a 'Triple Golden Museum' that brings together cultural events such as the Golden Melody Awards, Golden Horse Awards, and Golden Bell Awards. This vision aims to transform cultural development from a single venue into a pivotal node driving local tourism and industrial advancement.

Looking ahead to Xinzhuang’s future development, Su Tsao-hui proposed the 'Tourism Cross Corridor' concept, linking 'Temple Street,' 'Sports Park Zone,' 'Zhonggang River,' and 'Honghui Plaza.' Centered on Xinzhuang’s rich temple culture, this corridor would connect surrounding commercial districts, leisure areas, cultural sites, and public facilities. By collaborating with local businesses and unique events, it aims to draw tourist traffic into communities and commercial zones, further stimulating local development.

Su Tsao-hui also expressed gratitude for Xinzhuang Cuiyou Temple’s long-term commitment to public welfare and social charity, including emergency relief and care for vulnerable groups, as well as sustained support for local police and fire departments. She noted that having endured 340 years of history, the temple has become a vital religious and cultural landmark in Xinzhuang. If given the opportunity, she looks forward to working with the community to preserve traditional culture while continuing to promote Xinzhuang’s construction and development.
