Kenting and Xiaoliuqiu Lose Out! Pingtung's Top Attraction Draws 9.9 Million Visitors, Tourists Praise: Free Admission, Great Food, Perfect for Families

Pingtung, located at the southernmost tip of Taiwan, boasts numerous natural landscapes and historical culture, making it a popular destination for relaxation. According to statistics from the Tourism Administration, Pingtung attracted over 1 million visitors from January to July 2026. The most popular attraction was Victory Star Village Creative Life Park, with 9.9 million visitors, followed by Checheng Fuan Temple (3.54 million) and Pingtung County Park (2.18 million).

Victory Star Village Creative Life Park is the largest and best-preserved Japanese military officer dormitory complex in Taiwan. Visitors have commented that the park retains many Japanese-era official buildings, creating a time-travel atmosphere, and that it is free to enter, with many cats and great photo opportunities.

Checheng Fuan Temple is the largest temple dedicated to the Earth God in Taiwan, attracting visitors for prayers and wealth enhancement. Pingtung County Park, a former sugar factory site transformed into a free, spacious park, is popular with families for its playgrounds and seasonal events.
