Taiwan Water Corporation has announced that water outage operations will begin tomorrow, Monday, September 28, in parts of Taipei City, New Taipei City, Taichung City, and Kaohsiung City. Residents in these affected areas are reminded to complete water storage 6 hours in advance, and to turn off pump power during the outage to prevent motor burnout or fire.

Taipei City Water Outage Area 1: From 9/28, daily 6-hour outage Outage time: September 28 to October 4, daily 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM, 6 hours per day. Affected area: Zhongshan District, Zhongshan North Road Section 2 (from Nanjing East Road Section 1 to Lane 39, Zhongshan North Road Section 2).

Taipei City Water Outage Area 2: From 9/28, daily 6-hour outage Outage time: September 28 to October 4, daily 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM, 6 hours per day. Affected area: Zhongshan District, Lane 13, Nanjing East Road Section 1; Alley 7, Lane 13, Nanjing East Road Section 1; Lane 11, Zhongshan North Road Section 2; Lane 27, Zhongshan North Road Section 2.

Kaohsiung City Water Outage Area 1: 9/28 outage, 6 hours Water supply improvement project. Outage time: September 28, 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, 6 hours. Affected area: Daliao District, Chongming Street, Min'an Street, Minfu Street.

Precautions during water outage: 1. Complete water storage 6 hours before the outage to avoid last-minute rush that may leave end-of-line users without water. 2. As previously reported by Storm Media, be sure to turn off three major appliances: water pumps, booster pumps, and electric storage water heaters to prevent fire. 3. For buildings where the water inlet is below ground level, close the main valve before the meter during the outage to prevent siphon contamination. 4. When using a rubber hose on a faucet, do not submerge the hose in water to avoid secondary contamination from siphoning during the outage. 5. When water supply resumes, open all faucets to release air for faster recovery. Users at pipe ends or high elevations may experience delayed supply due to low pressure; please be patient. If water does not return, contact the water company for on-site service.
