First off Projects, a business community for high school and university students, has announced the release of 'Sotto,' a communication app designed to connect parents and children through promises.

'Sotto' is an app where parents and children record promises they have made together. Points are earned every time a promise is kept, making progress visible.

Examples of everyday promises include: - 'Let's eat dinner at 7:00.' - 'Let's brush our teeth before bed.' - 'Let's finish homework up to this point today.'

These daily promises are often forgotten amidst busy schedules and emotional fluctuations. However, seeing these agreements on the screen serves as a reminder for parents and children to talk about them.

How Promise Tracking Works: Parents create a QR code on the official website, which children then scan using the app logged into their account to receive points. 1. Register promises in the app (set the number of points and rewards for completion). 2. Parents create a point QR code for the specific promise. 3. Points are added when the child scans the QR code with the app.

Examples of Promises from Users: - 'If I go to school for 5 days, you'll buy me a snack.' - 'If I do my homework 10 times, you'll take me to an amusement park.'

Developed by a Team of Students: 'Sotto' was developed by a team of high school and university students who have experienced truancy.

The student in charge of planning experienced truancy for about two years starting in the fifth grade of elementary school. After transferring to a correspondence middle school, they gradually became able to go out again through music activities and online club activities. Reflecting on their own experience and the importance of promises with their parents, they devised 'Sotto' to support children in similar situations.

The student in charge of development experienced truancy in middle school. They resumed school after making a promise with their parents to 'buy a computer if I go to school.' Now aspiring to become an engineer, they resonated with this project and led the development.

Design Philosophy Valuing 'Days You Couldn't Do It': 'Sotto' is more than just an app for encouraging achievement. The basic policy is designed to celebrate together when successful and not blame when unsuccessful, allowing for another attempt next time. The app aims to prevent over-emphasizing days when progress couldn't be maintained, prioritizing a feeling of security where one can 'return' rather than just 'moving forward.'
