Sumitomo Corporation's CVC Invests in JIZAIE, Developer of "Genba OS" Integrating Video, Operation, and Control for Remote Work

Sumisho Venture Partners Co., Ltd. (Representative Director: Hidehiro Yamaki, Headquarters: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo), the corporate venture capital arm of Sumitomo Corporation, is pleased to announce its investment in JIZAIE Inc. (Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo, Representative Director: Junki Nakagawa, hereinafter referred to as "JIZAIE"), a provider of remote presence solutions.

JIZAIE is a startup originating from the University of Tokyo's Inami Laboratory, which is developing "Genba OS," a system that integrates the video, operation, and control necessary for remote work, with the mission of "Creating a world where everyone can work beyond time and space."

Through its proprietary video compression and transmission technology, JIZAIE achieves high-definition, low-latency video transmission even in environments with unstable communication.

The company offers the outdoor-compatible fixed-installation network camera "JizaiEyes" and the wearable cloud camera "JizaiHands" for real-time sharing of worker-perspective video. Furthermore, through the remote operation platform "JizaiBase" and the integrated viewing platform "JIZAIPAD," JIZAIE provides an integrated remote work platform for industrial use, covering everything from video acquisition to remote operation and equipment control.

JIZAIE aims to build a new employment infrastructure that transcends the constraints of distance and environment in fields with significant physical limitations, such as construction, manufacturing, infrastructure, and disaster response.

Sumisho Venture Partners invested in this funding round, attracted by the social significance and growth potential of JIZAIE's business, and by resonating with the company's mission of "Creating a world where everyone can work beyond time and space."

In Japan's key industries, labor shortages and the need for improved safety solutions are pressing issues in various "work sites."

We expect JIZAIE's ambition to build new employment infrastructure that allows remote viewing, decision-making, and operation of work sites, centered on its unique low-latency, high-definition video transmission technology, to be a key step in overcoming current Japanese challenges.
