Reading Drama 'Owatta Hito' Starring Kiichi Nakai & Midoriko Kimura Confirms Exclusive Awaji Island Performance for August 2026

The highly popular reading drama 'Owatta Hito,' based on the original work by Makiko Uchidate, has been confirmed for an exclusive performance in Sumoto City, Awaji Island, in August 2026.

The cast features only two actors: Kiichi Nakai and Midoriko Kimura. Experience the true thrill of a reading drama, where vivid scenes and emotions emerge despite an empty stage.

Makiko Uchidate's masterpiece, 'Owatta Hito,' depicts the turning point in life known as 'retirement' with a blend of humor and pathos. How should one live the second half of their life? Behind the laughter, this story for adults reveals the sorrow and hope of life.

In its 2023 premiere, the production held 16 stages across 8 cities nationwide. In 2024, 4 stages were held in Osaka and Hyogo. In the spring of 2026, the production completed a run of 21 stages across 14 cities nationwide. The performances were sold out everywhere, enveloped in thunderous applause and standing ovations.
