Gohei Nishikawa, the 'Pianist with Seven Fingers' Who Performed at the Tokyo 2020 Paralympics Closing Ceremony, Holds Birthday Concert in Yurakucho

Pianist Gohei Nishikawa, based in New York, has performed worldwide, including at Carnegie Hall. He was diagnosed with dystonia, a debilitating illness that threatened his career as a performer. Facing the loss of motor function in both hands, he persevered through intensive rehabilitation and now continues to perform using seven fingers.

His journey has drawn significant attention both in Japan and abroad. In 2021, he performed at the closing ceremony of the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games. His life story was also adapted into a stage production titled "The Pianist with Seven Fingers," inspiring countless people with courage and hope.

This concert is a special birthday event commemorating Nishikawa's 52nd birthday on October 25. The title "Sounds Beyond the Impossible" reflects his personal journey of overcoming adversity, never giving up on his dreams, and continuously believing in his own potential.
